Rhyno posted:Were there really two failed pilots? I was discussing it on FB and someone mentioned a failed attempt before the Nick Stahl version. One for Fox and one for Hulu with cancelled movie plans between. First episode buzzed by some otherwise logical cliffhangers to frantically throw poo poo at the wall for twenty minutes and end on... nothing? This show has terrible pacing so far.

I'm on episode 5 and it's kind of falling apart for me now. Also Darby Stanchfield is 48 and is 100% believable as the mother of three kids ages 18 and under.

I don’t watch Black Lightening(which I’m going to fix soon) but I’m curious how it handles all the post crisis merging stuff. Has the show addressed that much?

one of the daughters meets her alternate reality selves and finds out that if she kept on working for the fascist she would *surprise* become a fascist mainly it just went right back to the pre crossover storyline tho, no major changes

extremely grain of salt and all that but https://twitter.com/ManaByte/status/1226710358972194817 quote:According to Daniel Richtman via his Patreon, there is indeed a Secret Invasion style series in the works that will lead directly into Captain Marvel 2. It’s said to involve the Kree and the Skrulls as well as S.W.O.R.D., which will be introduced in WandaVision.

Wouldn't Secret Invasion work entirely against the whole point of Captain Marvel 1 though? Like, the big reveal is that no, comics fans, the joke's on you because Skrulls are good.

Eh it wouldn't be that hard to have a small splinter group that are the baddies, like the kree are finally willing to do peace talks but some skrulls are just so mad about all the genocide that they want to do some back. It would still kind of undercut the message of the first film but not all the way.

Considering that Fury in Far From Home talked about Kree sleeper cells, and that at least some Kree can pass for human, who says it's the Skrulls doing the invading?

S.W.O.R.D. being in Wandavision goes a long way towards explaining why Darcy is there. After all, she was an astronomy student in 2011, she could be a scientist agent by now.

secret invasion, but the government are the bad guys conducting a violent witch hunt for skrull families just trying to live in peace incognito on earth have the government's poo poo shill heroes like US Agent act as fake patriot avengers vs whoever's in the budget among the regular avengers (who are technically breaking the law to defend the immigrant skrulls), get a little dark reign with it edit: this would be a juicy plan for introducing hulkling Lunatic Sledge fucked around with this message at 00:35 on Feb 11, 2020 |

Going from Spider-Man having to deal with Iron-Man's bullshit into Spider-Man having to deal with Captain Marvel's bullshit does have a sense of continuity to it.

Retro Futurist posted:What's the age range like in it? From the trailer thought about watching it with my kid We watched it with our 10 year old. It was mostly fine for him, but he's watched a fair amount of thrillers/horror. There was a moment where a younger child gets killed by the bad guy that upset him a bit. But you'll have to make the call for your own kid based on what they watch. Common Sense Media says 13/14+. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/tv-reviews/locke-key It is nowhere near as graphic in any way as the comic. We all liked it. I liked some things better than the books and some things a little less.

Speaking of Netflix, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is based on a webcomic*, and it's cool and good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25UHUbpFTtY *That ended after 30 pages because someone from Dreamworks saw it and told the guy 'you should make a show out of this', but it still counts, dammit.
