Epic High Five posted:it's really funny to me how Warren didn't even get a brief mention anywhere after placing third in Iowa, but Klobb places third in NH with basically the same % as Warren got in Iowa and it's all anybody can talk about Her 11th hour strategy was a transparent character assassination against Bernie so she could say "women win!" But she's such a milksop that she wasn't willing to take a swipe at the other woman in the race who has a reputation for toughness, which means Warren's dumb idpol pivot boosted Klobuchar at her own expense.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_New_Hampshire_Republican_primary Wow, Trump only got 35% of the vote in NH. Cruz, Jeb, Kasich, Christie, and Rubio TROUNCED him. Once their supporters all unite under Kasich, Trump stands no chance. Kasich is the real frontrunner here.

Multiple things can be true. 1. Bernie is the lone frontrunner and currently the only candidate with a clear path to the nomination. 2. The hope that Bernie would effectively have this wrapped up after Super Tuesday is looking increasingly out of touch with reality.

Is there an archive of political ads before the YouTube era? I distinctly remember a 2001 Bloomberg ad with Rudy Giuliani explaining why he'd be a great mayor. But I have trouble finding it on YouTube, and I'd like to watch it again. edit: Looking at Wikipedia, and I didn't know Giuliani's 1997 challenger Ruth Messenger was DSA. Looking forward to everyone going full knives-out on Bloomberg at the Nevada debate, because every candidate should want him out of the running as soon as possible. Either he's an obviously awful and amoral billionaire who must be destroyed (Bernie's angle), or he's spoiling their chance to dominate the moderate lane (everyone else's angle).

ProperGanderPusher posted:What’s the best answer to the succ assertion that “The 2018 midterms are proof that Americans in swing states want calm, cool collected moderates and not radicals like Bernie”? I donated to and voted for my rep in a swing state because I desperately wanted to get rid of the Tea Party guy who was the incumbent and help the Dems take back the house. She has since basically been a blue dog and endorsed Biden. She thinks she won because people wanted a moderate, she won because there was a blue wave. I have no intention of voting for her this time around and as long as it doesn't make a difference in who controls the house I hope she loses. I don't think I'm alone in my experience. The dems have totally misread why they won house seats in 2016,.
