that phoenix holden ad was only very recently updated. until now it had the same music from some 1950s movie and the devil had a voiceover from the 80s. it was some nostalgic perth poo poo. oh Megabound your poor kitty. hopefully it's just something like bruising that will heal up on its own. they're tough little animals but seeing them in pain is heartbreaking

The septum is the cartilage in the nose that separates the nostrils. Typically, it sits at the center and divides the nostrils evenly. However, in some people, this isn't the case. Many people have an uneven septum, which makes one nostril larger than the other.

Megabound posted:I've been having a rough week as on Tuesday night my boy Scoops fell from the window our second story apartment. We don't know if he landed on dirt or concrete but he was not fine and needed to be rushed to the emergency vet immediately. After determining down from up visually or with their vestibular apparatus (in the inner ear), cats manage to twist themselves to face downward without ever changing their net angular momentum. They are able to accomplish this with these key steps: Bend in the middle so that the front half of their body rotates about a different axis from the rear half. Tuck their front legs in to reduce the moment of inertia of the front half of their body and extend their rear legs to increase the moment of inertia of the rear half of their body so that they can rotate their front further (as much as 90°) while the rear half rotates in the opposite direction less (as little as 10°). Extend their front legs and tuck their rear legs so that they can rotate their rear half further while their front half rotates in the opposite direction less. Depending on the cat's flexibility and initial angular momentum, if any, the cat may need to perform steps two and three repeatedly in order to complete a full 180° rotation. Terminal velocity.

Rental property in Sutherland has been locked in for 12 months, good size deck on it as well and within reason. 2 bed, 1 bath, extra toilet in laundry and a lock up garage under the main building with a gate at the front of the parking area. Stoked. Move date 29/2 and a week off work to go find poo poo for the joint

I remember when I was 14 my cat somehow fell off my 6th balcony in tokyo and survived the mean streets for four days before a security guard saw her somehow unharmed. There's some weird aerodynamics at play with cats falling off high stuff where it's dangerous up to a certain height but then less dangerous after that (but still potentially harmful) because at that height and above they can do their full turn to land as softly as possible and position their body for maximum aero drag and have the aero braking get into full effect. I don't remember the exact levels but it's something like: 1-2 stories; no big deal 3-5 stories; worst because they don't have enough time for aerodynamic body drag to offset the higher speed achieved from falling from that height 6-infinite; bad, but not as bad as 3-5 because there's enough time to position to reduce the landing velocity. Other variables: how fat (fat bad because harder landing) and fluffy (more is good for more aero drag) the cat is. Cats is weird.

McSpergin posted:Come on, don't tease me like this, I want some non-personally identifiable specifics Essentially they had 5 years off due to multiple cancers that kept spreading to other areas then decided to come back to work despite being real close to retirement age. Before they left they where a head teacher for a faculty that doesn't exist because it got rolled into ours. They attempt to continue to use their head teacher clout but that poo poo doesn't fly at all any more and my head teacher is real good at making poo poo teachers pay for their ineptitude with the principals support. Instead of using all of the systems that have been put in place to support learning and make poo poo easy they continuosly make up their own rules and do things the hard way. Since they've returned I've personally had to break up a fight that happened because they hadn't turned up to class until well after the bell and also didn't meet the class where they get collected from because they aren't fit enough to make that happen on the reg so made their own rules up. They also spent 5 minutes last week telling everyone in the staffroom that they where moving thier class somewhere else. I suggested they put a note on the door which is established protocol and has been the whole time I've taught at the school. My comment led to them complaining loudly and bitterly about me infront of the rest of the staffroom about how unprofessional I am but neither I or the head teacher was present when this happened. In the last week they has let a student who isn't on their roll into class not once but twice. I sent an email asking about the whereabouts of the kid, got no response so went and asked the kid directly. He's a real basic unit of a student and had no idea what was going on. HT teacher sent an email and the kid finally attended the correct class today. All of that poo poo is just the tip of the iceberg and there are many many more things going on but until the HT has sufficent evidence to take to the principal we are stuck with them. It's actually quite difficult to get rid of underperforming teachers so they want to make sure that they have enough evidence to nail them to the wall and remove them when it happens.
