I don't give a gently caress about semantics over whether or not the sound is metal, the band "Coven" deserves props here too:

Oh god, this loving song. I'd almost shut it out of my mind completely.

My music teacher in grade 4 or 5 made us sing this song practically every day. After months of this, someone called her on her dumbass song choice. She had like a mental breakdown in front of us, screaming and tear-assing around the room because we didn't like the song she was apparently obsessing over. We showed up to class the next day and she wasn't there. Never saw her again after that.

And that was the first of three times in my school going days that we drove a teacher off permanently.

Gotta nuke something

The second was a 6th grade teacher. She was kind of a cool teacher, but in hindsight not in a way good for educating kids. She was always having us do creative writing projects. Lots of fun, but she spent about 80% of class time on creative writing, and then tried to cram every other subject into the remaining 20%. Anyway, one day she was late to class. Very late, about an hour into the day and still no show. So the class doofus piped up with "Maybe she died from a brain tumor! HAW HAW!" Everyone burst out laughing.... just as the teach walks in, holding back tears. The next day, she's a no show. We get a sub, and never saw her again. From what I understand, she actually did later die from a brain tumor.

The last time was in high school. The teacher for english or something had the highest, most nasal voice you've ever heard. We could hardly get through a class without constantly trying to hold back the laughter. About a month in, one guy just stands up and goes "Ugh, teach. You're voice is just, like... super annoying. We can't learn or concentrate in the class when we have to listen your horrible voice. It makes our brains hurt to heart it. Sorry, it's just the truth." Class again bursts out laughing, as the teach flees the room. Then for the third and last time in my school going career, she was never seen again. New teacher the next day.

I really identify with the original story because our teacher was obsessed with John Denver and we had to sing Country Roads to open every class period.

From 7th grade upwards basically every music class we sang this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQBLZMULSbo

Now sounds just like a boringish song (which was a huge hit years previously). In hindsight it's the lyrics that are a bit odd for school kids but

In my eyes the orphaned look of a child lost
The trails of your love ache in my chest
Darkness comes after me like a fleet of bombers
And here I never ask for the price.

The fifteenth night arrives again with its nightmares
And everything, except life, is unnecessary
I can't always quite find it in me to believe in man
When humanity is committing suicide.

etc.

I only discovered his channel a couple of months ago from a post over in PYF and I was delighted to see how long he'd been at it and how much backlog I had to enjoy. I'm a hard sell on YouTube stuff where the presenter's personality is right up front, but he's terrific.
