If people with platforms aren't doing that in 18 months then that's some Obama-era bullshit and should be called out as such but the nature of a Presidential election means this just isn't a great time to do it.

I can only relate my own experience as a Brit who supported Jeremy Corbyn despite Corbyn being closer to the centre than I'd have liked. But the broad idea of holding off criticism so you don't do the rights job for them is, I think, understandable. But it absolutely needs to be turned into pushing the candidate from the left if they get into office. Democratic centralism loving sucks whether it's a ML party or a dipshit liberal party getting mad you aren't supporting their lovely politicians 100% even as they work against your interests.
