Nope. There would be just as much opposition to a good public option as there would be to Medicare for all. Because if the public option is good, then everybody will just switch to it and not bother with private insurance. So either way, that's the end of private insurance, and the insurance company will fight just as hard to stop it. The only public option you could actually pass with "less opposition" would be an intentionally lovely one designed to be unable to compete with private insurance. So what's the loving point?

Imagine having to hear that Bernie actually lost one contest, tied another, and is currently losing by a small margin.

Aren't both campaigns challenging the Iowa results and demanding recounts? But both of them agree that Bernie got the most votes, it's just down to delegate math bullshit.

So Bernie supporters can say that Bernie won because he got the most votes, but nobody can say that Pete won with delegates because the delegate stuff hasn't been settled yet

Unfortunately, much like with the general, the popular vote only matters so much. It’s okay to be hopeful and excited but still keep that in mind.

It’s the internal party opposition that I’m most concerned about. Free access to health care for those who need it most is my personal top concern going into this election. I agree that the external opposition will exist either way.

the internal opposition is also basically just coming from people who are paid off by the insurance industry as well though so the argument stands

quote:

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Sunday issued a warning to the Democratic Party to “rally behind” the party’s eventual presidential nominee or risk damaging their chances to defeat President Trump.

Ocasio-Cortez, who endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary, claimed that reports that her party is conspiring to deny the Vermont independent the nomination are “overblown,” but warned Democrats against using “super delegate or other kind of subversive policies to deny anybody the nomination.”

“It’s incredibly divisive to do so, and very demoralizing, which is a direct threat in November,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an interview with Time magazine. “The moment you start playing games trying to deny whoever is the nominee, we really start to get into dangerous territory in terms of defeating Trump.”

We really need to get some more independent news out there. That would be something Tom Steyer could do instead of running a vanity campaign that has no hope. It would be awesome if there was a cable channel that wasn't so overtly pro-corporate.
