Perhaps I wasn't clear. It was portrayed as a nightmarish awful thing. But it looked so directly like child abuse that it would have no doubt brought up terrible trauma for some of the audience. A creepy old man sneaks into a young girls bedroom, tells her night monsters are real and her parents lied to her and then proceeds to violate her with his fingers. This would have been intensely familiar for many. And, for a show and an episode trying to be positive and progressive about mental health and dealing with trauma and the shittiness of the world, loving the worst thing to portray. It actually disgusts me the most I think about it.
