Gotta buy my tickets for Chelsea Wolfe/ Emma Ruth Rundle and Hand Habits this week, but drat I can't wait.

So this snype isn't a worthless post: Hand Habits is super good and you should be listening to them all the time.

Here is a band out of Denver - Turvy Organ. They have a newer 2019 release on Spotify and I'm liking it. My favorite so far -
https://turvyorgan.bandcamp.com/track/chicago

One of the members was a childhood friend of mine. They have their older stuff on Bandcamp too but I just never got into it. They are opening for someone at Hi-Dive in Denver this weekend. I would be interested in hearing how they are live if anyone has seen them.

Yeah it's been "out" for three months now but it loving rules.

Anytime I hear "You'll miss me when I'm not around" it's stuck in my head for a week.

Yeah I am really enjoying the new Grimes album as well. Definitely better than her last album, imo.

Really like Delete Forever, You'll miss me when I'm not around, 4AEM, and Violence.

I honestly think that it is probably a better album because it's more personal. For example the Delete Forever song is about all her friends who have died from heroin.

Farscape is actually pretty cool.
idk nothing on this new Grimes album is as catchy as Flesh Without Blood or Kill V. Maim. I think I like Art Angels more.

The new stuff is good, but as mentioned, AA to me felt like one of the best albums of the decade. Flesh, Kill, and Reality (demo) still are some amazing singles.

Number one take away from this Grimes disc is that Elon Musk absolutely fucks to Tiesto - Silence (Remix).mp3.

This thing is like blasting Ladytron out of a Cybertruck tapedeck.

That story about Azelia Banks being held hostage for an Elon Musk threeway is also true.

So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth and New Gods are my favorites from new Grimes. I love spacey, melodic songs.

and a week later new Tame Impala and Tennis are still getting played nonstop by me. I really think all 3 of these albums would’ve been in my top 5 of last year haha.

Right from the start. So Heavy I Fell sounds like it could be a Delerium remix from the early 2000s.

Broke: Grimes made We Appreciate Power as a vaccine to the masses against Roko's Basilisk.

Woke: She made it Deluxe Edition only so if you don't get the deluxe edition you're damned for literally eternity of suffering.

Beach Bunny's "full length" (it's 25 minutes) Honeymoon came out and I think it's quite good. Very excited to see them later this week. Apparently other people really like them too, because I got my ticket in December and the show sold out shortly afterward.

Their audiotree live session is still one of my favorite releases of recent years. So excellent.

I think they’re just good, especially live. I gather they started off playing in dorms at DePaul and Northwestern and people immediately lost their poo poo and started putting them in bigger and bigger venues. Apparently the people who like them like them a lot.

It seems like great bands just have this very hard to pin down thing where being in a space with them is euphoric for a certain kind of person, and the euphoria is contagious. Beach Bunny has that thing.

New US Girls album is out. They promised it would be different and it is. This might be the kind of thing where they overlapped with my tastes for one album and not necessarily a whole career. I respect it more than I enjoy it. But it's worth a listen for sure.

Also, since I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, HAIM's new album is confirmed for April 24.
