I thought he was the original Yeah, the whole Slott run with Dawn is started when somebody uses a thing to scan all of space and time to find the person most important to him as leverage to make him do a thing, only they haven't met before that. She helps him change and evolve.  It's a really enjoyable fun and sweet run and the art is fantastic.

Slott created the hot Asian female Spider-Man with a costume made of webs who was constantly compelled by pheromones to bang Peter Parker She eventually got her own series with a different writer which was pretty good.
