In the Netherlands one of the reported cases is a child, but they haven't closed down the elementary school where the kid went, just sent a letter to the parents and told them to be on the look out for symptoms. But they have shut down the daycare. Apparently this family returned from skiing in Italy and the health department is saying 'yeah there's gonna be more cases'. We did our regular grocery shopping today and I noticed a dent in things like pasta and rice on the shelves, although it felt like there were less people physically in the store than usual.

According to the news there was this conference or something, it was work related. During the conference they went to greet this unnamed by the press Italian guy, who had been already infected. Two of them showed symptoms a day after arrival, the other like a couple of days later. Hooray. Ah, yeah. One of them owns a restaurant/food stand in Mexico City. The number of probably infected people jumped from 22 to 400. Edit: I think it was TWO guys that went to Italy, they infected their relatives and friends. Hot soapy water > hand sanitiser if you're at home. The squirty stuff in plastic bottles is for when you're on the move. Also now is the time to go reading some industrial / medical guides about hand hygiene. Should be able to find a ton of free learning resources online.
