Holy poo poo, MSFT. When I bought them cheap calls last week I had no loving idea this was gonna happen, jesus. E: Remember to never ever hold options overnight or over the weekend that WSB is recommending-- you'll lose 90% of the time in a truly spectacular way. Imagine holding puts over the weekend and waking up to... this. PLUS Robinhood crashed so you just had to sit there and watch them take the worst tumble in years. jokes fucked around with this message at 21:57 on Mar 2, 2020 |

Lol this is insane, my extremely underwater end of March calls are starting to get some color again so I’ll take it the Extremely Rational Market has decides that a recovery is possible.

I don't trust this rally one bit. Not enough to buy puts, but not enough to buy calls. My gambling hands are cooling off for a bit.

Spy puts over the weekend were absolutely the right call if you are protecting assets. I bought 20 more today, and I'll get another 20 tomorrow if traders continue feeling that pouring a little rate cut on this coronavirus will fix us right up.

You're talking about a severe drop in volatility over the weekend and who knows how long this stupid "rally" will stick around. I don't think I'm feeling positive about the near future in the market, but holding puts right now is a dangerous and probably expensive gamble. I like it.

lmao the central banks can say that they will do things and that'll turn investor sentiment around (regardless whether they'll have any impact)

Doccykins posted:You guys are posting like you've never seen a bull trap before Given that P/E only dipped as low as ~21.7 with a 15% drop, it's within the realm of collective behavior for SPY to rocket back up over 3390, and continue going higher in spite of COVID-19 until there's bigger material impacts. I'm not saying it will happen mind, just, I'm not prepared to rule it out. I'm also not prepared to rule out this being a dead cat bounce, but that does seem like the lesser likelihood outcome seeing today's enthusiasm.

orange sky posted:I mean, as someone who works in the industry you know that poo poo is hosed It feels more like an infrastructure or architectural failure - like they made some changes over the weekend and things melted down under load Monday AM. RH was functional pre-market with some spots of high-latency uptime mid-afternoon. I'm sure r/WSB went off the deep-end, though. All those idiots with options expiring today that they bought Friday at 3:55.

I like that. That's neat. edit: actually that looks more like IBB is making the API call and RH is returning the 503? Probably not the issue, more like a symptom. That twitter dude in TN is probably CST and at ~430 EST RH was totally broken. The last high-latency response I got was probably an hour before that.
