i long for a parallel universe where someone had the remorseless sociopathic political instincts to leak some horrible story about biden the day after sc

bernies greatest strength, his uncompromising principles and caring about truth, might be a weakness in this hell world, whod have thought

What a coincidence that Biden winning his one state and the entire DNC rallying to him during his rise in the polls happened exactly during those three days where there wasn't enough time for anyone to pay any close attention to him.

they are counted and may get delegates! depending on the type of delegate they may remain bound to the candidate on the first ballot. or they might not depending on how the credentials committee parses a "suspended" campaign. this is a very good system!

it is legit bizarre to see them get their act together, which i guess speaks to the advantages of having all your primary campaigns answer to the same set of billionaire donors

rallying around joe biden tho is just gross, but im guessing this coordination was going on after it was apparent Nevada was a wash and super tuesday looked ultra bad for them. that and biden is the most beatable frontrunner

its also just speaking again to the issue of there being little way for the left to play the media manipulation game

if biden seriously ends up the nominee, after trump just (correctly) attacked his melting brain, the dems and electoralism is basically done. we may as well go full military dictatorship at that point.

i'm still hopeful for sanders as the nominee, but it's tough to make the entire political establishment do a 180 and become a party for common everyday people.

if sanders ends up with the clear delegate lead after all of this, and they still nominate biden i hope he does go third party; maybe he could win a three way race

WTF?
I've been thinking about the S.C. primary and I haven't seen much discussion of perhaps the oddest thing about that election: it had record-breaking turnout (even higher than 2008) - and I really don't know what to make of it, but there are some options, considering that they broke heavily for Biden.

1) Open primary. Although this does not seem the case from exit polls, maybe a lot of republicans voted for the obviously weakest link?

2) Red state - red scare. The more conservative part of the base got scared of the socialist and while they would ordinarily not bother with the primary, it motivated and accentuated the conservative base? - however this also does not seem to be represented in the exit polls.

3) Clyburn all the way. For unfathomably reasons his endorsement not only made people that were gonna vote shift to Biden, but it also motivated a lot of people to show up?

Can anybody shed some light?

i think bern will retain his frontrunner status but will get screwed at the convention, unless biden gets like, a legit stroke on air or something that dominates the airwaves. biden has a lot of baggage but unless it can be used to manufacture some fear and doubt its just going to be glossed over until the republicans butcher the idiot libs with itI

what I really hope is bernies campaign apparatus endures and fuels a stronger progressive movement, even if he doesn't make it. but a lot can happen and tho im a worry wart about this poo poo, i think this moment could be little more than bidens high water mark, the dead cat bounce of the establishment. its just a matter if they are willing to be dumb enough to give it to biden at the convention and, well, they've been very very stupid so far!

the bernie campaign tho, is too much like the dog that caught the car, in a way. they've got to do more to control the media messaging and kept their foes against one another, even if it means going low or making absurd back room promises. they instead have put the establishment against the back wall and the threat of them losing their status and influence has, imo, been a source of sudden competence and unity from them. one of trumps strengths was that a lot of the right wing establishment decided they could live with him, but bernie is too openly principled for the dnc to delude itself over.

This steam of thought is all going to look pretty loving daft in a day or so, tho! if it isn't already stupid enough already.
