Bernie beating up Biden by more than 15 points in California is very much possible at this point after all of the early voting and absentee ballots are counted, plus Bernie's probably viable in every state above 15% that Biden took. A close Texas victory for Bernie and delegate tie or edge is likely too. This is nowhere near over. Not even close, especially since it looks like Bloomberg and Warren (lmao) will be outside viability in multiple states.

Yeah I'm not feeling great about tonight. I have honestly done my best to remain positive about Bernie's chances even in the face of ridiculous odds, and to be fair that was a hell of a lot easier to do a week ago, but after tonight I see no path forward. Yes, the primary isn't even halfway over, but Biden has made his mark tonight and there's probably no going back. California needed to be a blowout and Bernie needed to pick up some of the losers states like Minnesota and Massachusetts. We might still squeak by a Texas win but it feels impossible to build momentum at this point. I wasn't expecting a blowout tonight but I was expecting Bernie to come away with at least a modest delegate lead to combat the Biden narrative, and there's no chance it doesn't snowball at this point save Biden stroking out on live TV, and after tonight I doubt even that would do it. I want Bernie to keep fighting for every inch and make them sweat. I want him to keep humiliating Liz. And finally I want him to declare an independent run for president, but I know he never, ever would. I'm gonna have to check out from the succ smugness for a while. Maybe I wake up in the morning and a miracle occurs, but I can't visualize that anymore.

i honestly can't decide if warren is still in the race 'cause she's been directed so by the dnc (like the other candidates falling out and lining up behind biden) or if she really is that politically stupid and honestly thinks she has a chance at this thing. malice or incompetence, the evergreen question when it comes to democrats.

It's gonna be a long slog but at best, Biden rode a wave of enthusiasm and a unified moderate vote against a divided progressive vote and managed to fight to a tie. gently caress Biden, gently caress Bloomberg, gently caress Warren, Bernie's still gonna win.

I dunno man. Say Bloomberg drops out, Warren stays in. Seems like a whole hell of a lot would go to Biden and Bernie's ability to get a plurality would be even tougher. Florida alone will be very difficult for Bernie imo because he has to contend with gusanos and snowbirds. I'm gonna keep putting in work until more of the California vote becomes finalized at the very least. On the other hand, we made 2.25 million GOTV calls today and no other candidate has that. Maybe it'll count for something in next week's primaries. MeatwadIsGod has issued a correction as of 06:19 on Mar 4, 2020 |
