Well watching the youtube highlights that people post or the rebroadcasts through Twtich is obviously free, you can use your favorite Japan VPN to access Abema.tv which has a dedicated Sumo channel and shows all 6 divisions.

There are services that provide Japanese TV channels over the internet and I'm actually just looking in to them myself, apparently "isakura" is a popular one but there's a few others, they seem to be about 30 bucks a month for their basic channel package which should include NHK. I'm not sure if any of these service support a way to switch to the second English audio that NHK provides for the top division.

I always watched the summary channels, that German guy who retired and nattosumo. hopefully they don't shut him down again

should be interesting seeing it in an empty attends. wonder if the really well connected people (yakuza?) will still get in anyway?

Word is he made a new account. I'm sure if you wait a few hours after day 1 finishes and just type in

Makuuchi day 1
or
Sumo day 1

in to youtube's search and only show things uploaded in the last 24 hours, you'll have a few options to choose from.

You only get your first pick.

Unless too many people also pick it, then you get your second pick.

Reasons for my dumb picks:

Y/O: if Hakuho is healthy, he’s still the man, he’ll either be great or you’ll know right away and be a quick trade.
S/K: Ozeki runs are cool, so go Asanoyama.
M1-5: Hoping for the old guys to have a bounceback (plus Enho)

For the lower levels, it was guys who were higher up in the banzuke who have dropped down on the theory that they’ve proven that they have that they can win at low levels as first choice, personal fave as 2nd and young kid who would be fun to root for as 3rd.

Pick your 3 favorite per category based on, but not limited to:

Their hairstyle
The color of their garb
Their name
How funny their name sounds
