Random events can change numbers drastically, as ST demonstrated. People were ready to take a chance on Sanders because he looked strong until the guy they really wanted to vote for finally won a state convincingly - they didn't stop to consider if it was smart, they didn't stop to consider if Biden would actually gain momentum from that, they just changed their minds en masse. Big number go down, small number go up. The same thing can happen again. It's clear people are scared shitless of Sanders even if they like him, and comfortable with Biden even if they hate him. We can make that meteoric shift happen again if we make people terrified of taking a chance on Biden. These freak, seemingly random upsets can only ever favor us now - we were the frontrunners before and we feared the capriciousness of voters, but now the Biden campaign is the one sitting on a razor's edge with everything to lose. Anything can happen. People and the way they vote makes no sense, it has no rhyme or reason, and that's why Bernie needs to stay in til the convention.

I honestly think at some point I'd rather see him focus on boosting downticket progressives rather than pumping millions of dollars into a hail mary shot at the presidency. Cisneros lost in Texas by two points and as far as I know she barely received any support. Absolute waste of a house seat.

told my high school AP english teacher to gently caress off and never talk to me again on facebook today because she:

-compared bernie to trump because they "both want to bring manufacturing back" and "are both so loud"
-expressed support for biden because she "grew up with him and knows his policies"
-expressed contempt for my insistence that bernie is the best candidate
-said that biden would easily beat trump and that I should stop complaining and do the smart thing and vote for biden.

she's been posting this poo poo at me every now and then for a few weeks and I'm sure my family and siblings, who also had her for AP english, are horrified at how insanely rude I just was to her. But you know what? I really don't give a gently caress :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever: :sever:

Older teachers are probably more likely to get their news from succ sources and their reality is distorted as a result.

My parents didn’t believe me when I told them that socialism polled better than capitalism for Democrats in some exit polls the year.

Good point. My supposedly Bernie supporting father thought those polls were fake and is all in on thinking it's going to be Biden then Trump because nothing matters and the ratfucking will happen.

I was arguing the dangers of blue no matter who and that I prfer to judge candidates based on their policies rather than the letter by their name and was told "That's fine. If you don't care, you can still do the right thing. Which is voting for D, like you are told to do."

Well, at least Bernie didn't say, no, Biden is still sharp as a nail, and instead said people should decide for themselves what to make of his gaffs. Also, mentioned that he's no idea how Biden can have 7 minute long speeches, when he talks about big issues with his voters for hours.
