It’s ok, it’s an election year. If RBG gets the wrong kind of Corona from the bar, Mitch McConnell will magnanimously allow the winner of the election to choose the next SCOTUS justice.

The logical extension of this is one of two things: absolutely always lie to single issue voters and then do what you want later (wise)

Always be beholden to single issue voters (dumb)

Unfortunately, the GOP is wiser on this than the Democratic Party and will lie about big things then do the opposite in practice.

Biden's sweeping Michigan, Missouri, and Mississippi. The black vote is turning out, it's 75%+ for Biden, and it's very obvious that Bernie's strength in 2016 was that he wasn't Hillary. Goddamn people hated Hillary more than I even thought.

I voted for Bernie and it's the last vote for Bernie I'm going to get here. This thing is essentially done.

And just so y'all see it and get your anger out now:

Clyburn needed to shut up, but his general standpoint isn't statistically wrong. The primary might be done this time next week. Biden won SC, the field cleared because they knew they couldn't get black votes, and everything else fell in line.

That's more or less why I posted all that information. Everyone's way too doom-and-gloom about Biden (hell, he was one of the people dragging Obama to the left in the administration), but today / next week is when the music died.

And really, the liberal policies have to come out of / live through Congress anyways.

This was my understanding as well, and even earlier today I talked about wanting to see a progressive movement rise up from the bottom and have some institutional support instead of trying to rob the bank by winning the presidency.

Man, I remember just last Wednesday I was making some crack about, “just 10 more cases and the US will be at 169!” Now it will hit 1,000 by the end of the day. I know a lot of it is increased testing, but it’s increased people presenting as well. It’s honestly nuts how fast the number is going up.

Trump's dumbass "It's only 530 cases! Thousands die of the flu!" got me curious so I plugged the last few days numbers into a spreadsheet last night and extrapolated the growth rate.

This very naive model predicted 900 US cases today, 5,000 friday, and 1,000,000 on the 31st.

I don't think Biden will win because he's a senile old man who doesn't energize anyone except old dems. Old dems are vastly outnumbered by old republicans. More republicans turned out in Texas, for example, just to vote Trump in an uncontested primary than the total number of Democratic primary voters this year.

Biden has killed my enthusiasm. I'm no longer volunteering with the democratic party, because nothing changes with a Biden presidency. Things continue to get worse for a majority of Americans while the wealthiest few continue to exploit us.

They have though. The majority of Democratic voters support medicare for all, and exit polling on super tuesday showed that Biden voters thought he supported it. Socialism polls with a higher favorability than Capitalism now with Democrats.

I'm starting to think Biden is actually the Trump of this election- he has no platform, many people just assume he supports whatever it is they want because he's their guy.

Honest answer, down-ticket races still need plenty of support. And votes. Doesn't matter who the Dem nominee for president is, poo poo ain't getting done without the house and the senate. Dems are likely gonna hold the house and have a very realistic shot at taking the Senate as well.

I don't think anyone here had Biden as a first, or second or even third choice, but if you sit out in November because Bernie or whoever your candidate choice was isn't the Dem nominee...talk about cutting your nose to spite your face.
