Mr. Nice! posted:Democrats will not take the Senate with Biden as the face of the ticket. No way enough people are going to turn out to vote for him to actually flip the senate. Trump's voters will show up. So - your argument from the previous page is that a candidate other then Biden would get people to the polls to vote in down candidate races. These will not be enough to beat Trump voters in key races. Where the gently caress are these Dem voters in the primaries? Let's take a look at MI 2016 Sanders 598943 49.68% Clinton 581775 48.26% 1,180,718 2020 3-11@1204 EDT Sanders 526,946 37.8% Biden 735,019 52.8% 1,261,965 Trump won MI by 10,000 votes. I'm not saying Biden is my ideal candidate, but as far as I can see he's beating the gently caress out of Bernie.

Edit: mlmp08 posted:Real talk: How does one "pick their battle" with anti-choice voters to win their votes? Cause I'm pretty sure if they really are single issue, the only way to pick your battle is to say "gently caress em, don't need em," or it's to acquiesce, or it's to just lie to them and then ignore them after the fact. If it's some mushy-mouthed stuff about appealing to them otherwise, then they are by definition not single-issue voters and instead multi-issue voters who happen to be pro-life. You don't make that issue a major talking point. Save it for reelection. You need to pull out all the stops on this one because the alternative is Donald Trump as a second term president and continued GOP control of the Senate and PROBABLY a supermajority on the Supreme Court. Every day I'm waiting for Joe to have his "deplorables" or "put all the coal miners out of work" moment, and this might be one of them. Vincent Van Goatse posted:I get what you're going for but you should still vote for Biden because asking Ruth Bader Ginsburg to stay alive and on the Supreme Count for another five years is... not a great plan. Florida has only gone blue 4 times in like the last 50 years, and *2*of those were for Obama so don’t let the polls fool you. One thing I’ve learned about my State is that it almost always never manages to live up the low expectations I have for it someway, some how. I’ll make sure that my parents vote for Biden... The Supreme Court seats are the one and only reason that I personally would pull the lever for him but quite frankly I need him to show me that at least he is interested in implementing *even just one* progressive policy to try and lure in and appeal to the progressive wing/younger voters... If this doesn’t happen, welp - if young voters don’t turn out in high enough numbers for Bernie, do you think they are gonna go out and phone bank and canvas and vote for “Sleepy” Joe Biden who basically told an entire voting block to suck it up and gently caress off with our problems? I’m 39 and about to retire from the Air Force, I don’t NEED any of the things Bernie talks about, but I want it for those families that go without, for my parents and for my children. I also feel like this is strait out of a page of MLKs Birmingham jail letter in that a “negative peace” that Biden would bring about (in regards/contrast to Bernie’s progressive positions) is almost as bad as the outright hatred that Trump espouses. Biden (and the DNC by proxy) is the literal white Moderate who “paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." However in this context the “freedom” in this case would be swapped out for universal healthcare, addressing climate change & progressive taxes to try to reverse the massive income inequality that is only getting worse.
