Uh oh, if things continue like this the "Bohren & der Club of Gore" concert I've been looking forward for months will be cancelled At least the music fits well into 2020: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLsmLbliQcs

Hell yeah, Bohren! Lots of deep, really painful sounding coughing at my local Rewe. Very chef's kiss *dies instantly*

If I have learned one thing from this crisis, is that in case of an apocalypse der Deutsche Michel will subsist on a diet of Nudeln (no Dinkel plz, k thx) and Toilettenpapier. And that’s sad.

Well, I am glad leading German websites have published good recipes à la Nudeln mit Klopapiersoße. Also, regarding Spahn, it's not like he could do much. It's all Ländersache.

Fun fact: The hospitals in some parts of northern italy are already at 200% capacity and are no longer treating new patients. Strap in, this is going to be fun golden bubble posted:I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but in Bergamo that already happened yesterday. In some parts of Italy, they're already giving up on severe CoVID-19 patients who are too old. I'd advise you to avoid needing the hospital as much as possible in the future. Welp, my place of work also just announced blanket home office for everyone starting next week. Probably just in time, too.
|
# ? Mar 11, 2020 15:27 |
Mine softly announced (via a PDF filtered down into individual teams from management instead of... y'know, just sending it out as an actual announcement to everyone), that... nothing has really changed and that there is no guidance whatsoever. They did at least say that people who take public transport to get to/from work, and who have concerns about doing so, can speak with their line manager about taking "appropriate measures". So I'm switching over to home office for a bit

Mostly business as usual at our company so far. Though they did organize a doctor to give the flu shot to everyone who wanted it last week. Oh and apparently we can get masks and disinfection fluid from the company. Haven't tried getting any though.

We continue to laugh at your weak, southern immune systems, Bavarians. Hamsterkäufe have been gone back a bit, only 14 actual infections so far out of 38+ Meldungen. I know, exponential growth and all that, but right now people all around me are terminally smug about how awesome Wir Niedersachsen are.

This is despicable. Imagine a nurse, a physician, a teacher or another "Multiplikator" being such an irresponsible, stupid, egotistical gently caress like Nuhr. I've cancelled all events with more than 100 participants yesterday and today have cancelled all events regardless of size until mid-April. This will probably cost me my Jahresziele, but I've invited upper management to fight me on this decision and cut my Zielerreichungsbonus all they want. I'll not stand by and endanger other people through my negligence and I feel only cold, yet seething contempt for smug morons who boast they went clubbing during the weekend, even while a pandemic was clearly brewing, and then go to work the next day and, e.g., stand in front of a class of pupils who can't opt out due to schulpflicht.

I'm estimating that I am roughly 48h ahead of the curve and should be redeemed by Monday. If I am wrong I can live with that, but I couldn't live with having a hunch and not deciding accordingly. I'm also sure that German states will soon follow the Danish example and close schools before the Easter holidays because the risk of exposing pupils (and their parents/grandparents) to stupid fucks who go clubbing during a pandemic is no longer deemed controllable.

This is about to be absolutely devastating for freelance musicians and the entire private concert industry. A friend of mine just lost half of their yearly income because several concerts in Europe and a US tour were cancelled.
