The debate isn't important because its going to change people's minds, its important because the people who cannot be changed should be made to own it. They should be made to face the dementia-addled Republican-lite they've staked this country's future on. They need to suffer every goddamn hour they continue to believe Joe is a more "electable" candidate than Bernie. They need to wriggle and squirm as they walk to polls, knowing there's a better choice and still refusing to take it. This position is not noble or Bernie-like, but gently caress it. In my opinion the best thing to do if you know someone who supports/voted for Biden (and you're pretty sure they can't be persuaded otherwise) is to just express deep disappointment in them, or concern about the consequences of their choice. This is also the best approach to take online. If you act angry at people and insult them, they'll usually just double down and attribute it to "trolls/Bernie Bros." But people have a harder time knowing how to respond to something like "that's awful of you to say!" or (if applicable) expressing your very real concerns about why M4A is important to you (or immigration, etc). Or just be like "I care about ______ and I'm really worried about ______ if Biden is President." Basically don't frame it as a direct attack on Biden or an attempt to prove them wrong. This can also be considered "concern trolling" (though I'm not sure if it's really "trolling" if the concerns are genuine). This is perhaps the greatest lesson being a Jew has imparted to me. Guilting people is usually superior to expressing direct anger. The exception to this is pro-Biden public figures or people who frequently engage in "intra-left discourse" (like the people in this thread who are either pro-Biden or contemptuous of Sanders supporters). Those people are either disingenuous (the latter) or bloodthirsty freaks without empathy (the former).
