Are you all playing ranked or something where the community is dead and what's left is toxic? I play QM exclusively and rarely have to wait longer than 30 seconds for a game, when I get one people are generally pretty laid back.

It was mostly unranked that the demons appeared. Going back to qm is chill time barring getting 5 man stomped.

Heroes of Newerth is ten years old and stopped getting content updates last year, so perhaps it's more like Myspace or cable television.

lmao the most recent patch gave fenix a completely unwarranted buff by making his strongest talent at 4 even better

and then it got bugged and applied to fenix by default so you don't even need the talent

enjoy the extra movement speed if you still play this dead gay game

That bug is pretty hilarious, but Emergency Protocol was not the strongest 4 talent for months upon months now. Target Acquired was both highest win rate and highest pick rate.

2400 shards is pretty expensive for a skin. Regular legendaries are 1200. These event skins dont look so much better.

They're 2400 because they're "new event content". They'll go down to 1200 next winter

Last night I played with a Jaina that wanted our team to report the enemy greymane because he kept killing her when she overstepped or lingered too long after we lost someone in a fight. She even responded positively when I asked if she really wanted us to report him because she was playing bad. This gay dead game and its player base is the best.

Nexus Anomalies are supposed to be "temporary and easy to remove if players want it gone". Of course, there are no in-game polls asking about it (at least, none that I've seen), so how they gather that data is completely opaque. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they never had any intention of listening to community feedback and were merely speaking in platitudes, considering how often they've done exactly that before.

I think they're supposed to last for the ranked season, which has about two months to go. I like the orbs though

Yeah, with the Orb changes (chase you immediately, and you get them on any kill at a distance (ie azmo)), I don't find a terrible problem with them. Only Abathur's really affected now with his bodysoaking. You have to do more with the body now, which, eh.

I miss old abathur, not just before XP orbs but before his rework. I had a match with near 75% siege damage and 50% team xp back then. By far my most ludicrous score screen on any hero. Not possible anymore.

My build is now a lot more homogenized, I rarely go outside the same talent picks. Can still split soak, can still prop up an ally that is losing their lane. I still always have the most XP gained on either team, but it is way less than before. There's no reason to place your worm bod aggressively in bushes near lane anymore. It used to be high risk with good reward, and really kept your on your toes since you had to micro aba himself along with the rest of your map awareness. Now you're just putting a free hero kill out there for the enemy team with no incentive.

Yeah I think that the specialist reworks generally have been unsuccessful. While heroes like Abathur / Azmodan / TLV can still have moments to shine given the right comp, they're generally inconsistent and unimpactful. And it's totally messing up QM balancing, because a team of ex-specialist lane pushers are not the same as assassins / supports and are going to get rocked if they don't have actual team fighters.

As for Aba talent picks specifically, I generally just have two approaches: a generalist build emphasizing the Locusts, and a Symbiote support build to create a melee assassin hat carry. I've tried the Carapace and Toxic Nest builds, but they just don't really work for the current game.

Especially with the board game event going on, I find myself doing a lot of AI matches. Most of the event repeatable quests can be completed in a single match if you pick the right hero and push yourself to get those big numbers. Way more chill, I've had some people go afk and get kicked, but nobody has complained about anyone's performance and nobody has protest-AFKed because "we lost the game already, just give up."

I'm sitting on 30+ item chests, and will keep farming them up until the event ends. I did the same thing last year, and it was great. You end up with so many Doritos that you can craft all the event skins you want through spring, summer, and fall events.

I uh am not sure about that Xul rework. I know people are saying it is a buff, and they specify they wanted a greater focus on the skeletons. But it feels more like a nerf to skeletons to me. I guess the intent is you have fewer skeletons at a time and they die faster, but maybe it is easier to get new skeletons out and when they die they deal some damage.

I think I would have rather had some updates increasing number of skeletons, letting them last longer and do more, and maybe with some talents to actually buff the skeletons.

Of course I was also annoyed with the Skeletal Mages in Diablo 3.

Mostly Xul seems to be constantly shedding skeletons that pump out plenty of area damage, and has excellent shielding plus fairly hard CC and a buffed AOE poison blast. I'm regularly seeing him put out 100K siege and 50K hero damage in a game. And it's not like it's difficult - every ability is basically automatic. He can rotate around knocking down forts singlehandedly, or derail counterpushes, and does just fine in team fights. He's not game-breaking the way Deathwing was (and still is in many ways), but it certainly seems like a classic overtune.
