there wont be a vaccine for like 1.5 years or so? And you can get reinfected by this thing. So yeah, make sure you're in it for the long haul

whats the science behind it being easier to get muscle back after atrophy? i may have a surgery put me out for awhile

Something about something growing and expanding when you build muscle, so even when the muscles themselves atrophy, they will re-grow easier because of the thing that expanded previously [€dit] Fascia. The something that grows and expands is called "Fascia" Also possibly because you got extra nuclei and stuff so its easier to rebuild Zzulu fucked around with this message at 09:50 on Mar 12, 2020 |

Yeah it's much quicker and easier to regrow muscle after losing it than grow it in the first place

Helios Grime posted:I'm actually looking into ordering a bar and weights from Rogue to train from home when they close everything down. Depends. If you do a lot of quick lifts then a Ohio bar it has a smaller diameter for for a bit more whip but not super thin like a Deadlift or Olympic bar. If you only do a few quick lifts then an Ohio Power bar. It's got a center knurl and it's thicker for a more stable back squat. A bit more aggressive knurl too. I got an 40 kg bell, that would be the 88 right, math is not my specialty. You can get in a very heavy workout using that thing. However it might be considered "cardio" so I see why people are worried. *heavy in the effort expended, I know it doesn't compare with heavy lifting done with a bar doverhog fucked around with this message at 19:55 on Mar 12, 2020 |

I've got a crappy bench at home but no room for a rack. My poor legs. e: apparently they're not even sure it spreads from surface contact, but mainly person-to-person. Until my gym shuts down I'll just take a rack in the corner and avoid the cardio room. nooneofconsequence fucked around with this message at 22:50 on Mar 12, 2020 |

Seriously kettlebell guys not even being ironic at this point 53lber or a 70lber to start will do you well in a home situation and pavel will guide you on the path of righteousness One piece of equipment no need for a rack or a bunch of equipment. Can easily be done in a small apartment.

I just bought a 60 pounder to complement the pull up bar in this tiny apartment. Edit: OK so in light of the fact that I am stuck in a tiny apartment for the forseeable future, I did buy a pullup bar and a 60lb kettlebell. As someone who is used to doing the RP Physique Template (5-day split), I'm used to hitting each body part hard 2-3 times a week. It's a bit of a mind shift to go into a "fullbody every day" sort of mode. Since I don't know what the gently caress, I've just been doing like a round of pushups, pullups, squats, planks several times a day when I remember to get up off my desk. Throwing the kettlebell in there for swings, goblet squats, presses, and split squats/lunges would be great, but for maintenance would it still be better do to a full body round several times a day, or try to keep a body part split throughout the week? I generally do simple and sinister every day and then throw in the split afterward Floor presses, clean and jerk, high pulls, and snatches will go a long way Also renegade rows

As long as you're working on a new routine, spend some time on mobility and soft tissue work. Get a foam roller if you don't have one and look into Joe DeFranco's routines (limber eleven and simple six).

how much volume does it take to replace weight? Is it linear? Is 50 reps with 20 lb equal to 5 reps of 200?
