(crazy popular/hyped brewery that was among the first in the new england style IPA craze. you can only get their beer from the brewery, they don't even distribute to bars. known for having long as lines, people filling hand trucks full of cases of whatever they're selling that day. They make good beer but nothing is that good imo).

Probably not. The electric ones are real pricy. They heat the water and blow dry your butt and probably have a better build quality than the $40 ones.

Yeah but like I'm more interested in what they will ACTUALLY be turned into. I know it won't be anything good like a school or low income housing. So probably they will end up as luxury condos.

B: she's actually 96 now

C: we didn't end up going

Yeah I have pursueded my wife to go on lockdown. We have a kid in daycare and I am not sending him in. Basically my plan is to just wait 5 days and then only get in contact with people who have also been quarantined for that amount of time, basically getting ahead of the ineveitable lockdown. She can work from home and I am looking for a new computer toucher job.

Pretty sure there have been studies out there showing employees are happier and work harder when given more ability to telecommute.

There are a number of posts on r/childfree complaining of companies allowing people with kids to work from home, but not their non-parent co-workers performing the same duties. Never mind that kids would, on average, be way way way more distracting than pretty much anything lying around a typical household.

Not easy taking measures like this in a country you can drive through in an hour.

Can they not restrict international travel? Does the "free travel" agreement that comes with EU membership make no exception for disease control? Or is that simply a matter of them being unable to set up so many checkpoints so quickly?

The toilets with all that stuff built in generally go for about $4000-5000.

Ok but that has nothing to do with whether surgical masks offer some form of protection.

If surgical masks offer "some" protection, so do scarves. And balaclavas. And bandanas. And water jug on head, but people would probably make fun of that too. Heck, a scarf type thing probably offers more protection than a surgical mask, because it covers more of your head.

Peeps don't have to cough in your mouth. If people cough on your hair and then you touch your hair and rub your eyes, bam, you've got the roni. If you're healthy but worried enough to wear surgical masks, then you should be worried enough to shower several times a day. Oh, and those disposable surgical masks? Yeah, you need to change them every 30 minutes or they are much less effective. Strapping a contaminated mask to your face is much worse than doing nothing. So I hope you bought enough to go through 30 a day.

Some sort of fabric scarf is probably a greener and easier choice if you're doing it "just in case" for "some" protection. Buying 10 or 20 scarves is easy. Every half hour or hour or whatever makes you feel safe tear it off and put it and any accumulated virus particles in a sealed bag and put on a clean one. At the end of the day throw your bag of plague scarves (and the clothes you wore outside) into the laundry with soap and maybe bleach, and they'll be ready and safe to reuse tomorrow.

Nice low cost option, probably just as useful as a surgical mask, maybe more.

Looking good Bob.

Way better coverage than a puny surgical mask.

Awesome coverage, and I bet all those fuzzy tentacles would be great at intercepting droplets before they get near your holes.

God tier. Look how many layers a droplet would have to pass through! If weather permits this is the way to go.

Gotta get that eye pro. Somebody sneezes in your eye you're dead.

Looking manly there Doug.

Even better coverage. Scarfs are so versatile!

Nice wrapping technique, but this many has clearly already succumbed to Roni Eye.

The government thought a total lock down would be unnecessary with the closing of bars/restaurants, all events, non-essential shops in weekends etc...
but as you said, locking down a country like belgium is impossible anyway. It’s basically a chaotic traffic hub, connected to the countries around it by an endless network of roads.

Pretty sure there have been studies out there showing employees are happier and work harder when given more ability to telecommute.

I've had arguments with otherwise-rational peers in the management team at my company about this over the past few days. They are afraid that when their team is inevitably allowed to go remote they will be unresponsive and get no work done, and projects will fall behind. I asked if they noticed a pattern where less-productive team members were magically made more productive merely by in-person attendance, or if those people had to be poked and prodded just as much when working in the office.

I think what I've concluded is that managers put too much stock in the effectiveness of their constant badgering, and equate it with productivity.

Trump took the test on Friday, he said during a Saturday news conference, after coming into recent contact with two individuals who have tested positive for the virus.
"Last night after an in-depth discussion with the President regarding COVID-19 testing, he elected to proceed," according to the statement about the results released by press secretary Stephanie Grisham with Trump's permission. "One week after having dinner with the Brazilian delegation in Mar-a-Lago, the President remains symptom-free. I have been in daily contact with the CDC and White House Coronavirus Task Force, and we are encouraging the implementation of all their best practices for exposure reduction and transmission mitigation."
