Either Hancock is lying his rear end off about the objectives and what the government will do, or someone has done a runaround on him. Normally I'd say it was the former, but in this situation I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

Haven't used it more than a couple times though The search is essentially useless - it'll fail to show you things they definitely sell and fit the search criteria while showing you half a dozen things only related to the search term by the property "is a physical object that exists", you can't find out if something is in stock without clicking on it, and every once in a while, just for fun, it'll arbitrarily change the store you want to reserve the goods at or flip you over to delivery. I *think* they've finally got Paypal working with it now but that was broken for years for anything other than home delivery (and if I wanted something delivered to my home I can definitely get it cheaper elsewhere). I suspect this is all a ruse designed to keep people using the LAMINATED BOOK OF DREAMS lest its power be reduced to the point that the demons contained behind the counter all escape.

Been off all week with the flu, and now getting various facebook shares sent to me by elderly relatives with very spurious medical advice, such as gargling vinegar, cupping, and reiki. Pretty sure only a few days away from the same people advocating bloodletting to balance my humours, or eating a boiled dog's heart soaked in piss, or whatever. Good fun though, can't beat a bit of thrash live, perfect tempo for a good headbang without getting a concussion. Anyway, the soundtrack to my night is this because I keep having flashbacks to the obnoxiously pished woman on the bus who kept shouting to strangers about her staggeringly banal day and the volume on my phone doesn't go loud enough. Hell is only other people when they won't shut the gently caress up and realise not everyone gives a gently caress about every detail of their life.

A full fragment based drug screen on the major protease of the virus, from beginning to end since January. Not enough time to help with this outbreak, which I imagine is why it hasn't been more widely circulated, but very promising as a lead for antivirals against future outbreaks. If the patient had a DNAR then they were probably already critically ill and the caring team made a judgement that the potential benefit to that patient was not sufficient to outweigh the risk of their exposure. We can't comment on whether they were right but it's not really accurate to call that rationing.

Has anywhere published any kind of stats on hospitalisation by age group? We see the stats saying CFR for 20-29 and 30-39 is 0.1%, but I don’t think I’ve seen a hospitalisation rate (CHR?) broken down, just the generic 14% which is presumably skewed by the elderly having a much higher rate?

I have it. At first I thought it was just a hangover but I started feeling really cold in my bones whilst my head was getting warm. I've been up all night dry coughing and feel dead achey and just generally hosed. I live in a quite rural area in West Yorkshire and only popped to Manchester last Wednesday (where I'm guessing I picked it up as otherwise I work from home) Also my girlfriend broke up with me and we live together so that makes all this extra fun (hope she doesn't get it and can still move out asap) Just going to play Cities Skylines all day and try not to give it to anyone further

I'm feeling sort of ..... vaguely flu-y but it seems to be getting better, I worry if I self-isolate though I'm going to lose my job, my employer uses the 'Bradford Score' wank to measure absenteeism and mine's already high for having the temerity to need a lot of time off after both my loving parents died last year. Dunno! Part of me is like "gently caress it, take the week off anyway" especially because I know at least one of my coworkers is at a high risk. I can live in my overdraft, it will suck but it's better than, like, risking another person's life, right? Also Animal Crossing's out this week

If your firm uses Bradford score for bereavements or government mandated self isolation they are taking the piss and you need to get the gently caress out asap provided you can't get some sort of Union support. We use at my office but only for minor uncertified illness, and even then it's mostly just for safeguarding as people have a habit of disguising chronic stress as a cold.

The bradford score is so dumb because the score gets way worse if you have lots of separate times off work, but if you have one or two periods of a few days at a time, it's not as bad. So if you're off sick for one or two days, you might as well take a couple more off while you're at it because that doesn't affect it nearly as badly.

Ours basically goes up any day you're absent, I think the only exception is if it's authorised ahead of time. This is A Computer Thing where it happens automatically with the clocking in system iirc, some managers (my previous one before I switched roles!) are pretty cool about actually acting like humans about it but I have no idea about my new one. Plus it's just a general Vibe I'm getting about my job security since I switched, I dunno. It does loving suck though, one guy has had managers Joke, But Not Really about how high his is because he had surgery that they knew about months ahead of time. Vile poo poo. I definitely wanna get out, it's a miserable job even without this honestly.
