It was ultimately a released, playable RPG in the end but Schilling couldn't help but run the company itself into the ground before it got to any of the promised "good stuff". no, they bought the single-player RPG along with the studio that made it (BHG?) and reskinned it with The Lore. the MMO stuff they built themselves, I believe codenamed Copernicus, never amounted to poo poo

Yeah, Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning. I worked on that poo poo as a game tester. So much stuff cut from the game, including a bunch of insane like the world being our world in the far future and the Gnomes controlling the Templar sin our history. I remember spending the month of december doing 12-hour shifts 6 days a week trying to 100% the game without finding an unavoidable crash, only for some area to get corrupted and then have to wait for the next build hoping it would the fnal one.

His face is largely immobile but he rubs the bridge of his nose occasionally. Eventually, he removes the headset, ejects a disc from the computer and turns to the camera. "You must never play this. If I were you, I would destroy this, less it become a white elephant in the room of your life."

Krankenstyle posted:while soviet art kicks rear end, did he ever explain why his home is full of it? its pretty weird for a guy who hates socialism its to forever remind him that the social justice warriors are the real baddies quote:Peterson’s unlikely collection of Soviet art has become part of his own personal mythology, routinely proffered as evidence of his profound ethical commitment to understanding the forces of evil in the world. ‘I wanted to have these paintings around because I’ve been obsessed with totalitarianism and the human capacity for atrocity,’ he says. Living with them serves as a constant reminder ‘of the subjugation of art to ideology and the horrors of the USSR,’ as he put it in a tweet. Indeed, Peterson often invokes his collection when decrying perceived ideological abuses of art in the present. In a November 2017 tweet, he approvingly quoted the evolutionary psychologist Geoffrey Miller’s characterization of Yale University’s MFA programme as ‘the latest art school to abandon virtuosity, creativity, [and] aesthetics in favour of far-left activism’ in response to the announcement of the university’s new art and social justice initiative. ‘Remember Soviet Socialist Realism?,’ Peterson added. ‘I do. I have about 200 pieces, just to remind me what happens when art is subordinated to social justice.’ also something about how buying a bust of lenin on ebay is the ultimate triumph of capitalism

Krankenstyle posted:while soviet art kicks rear end, did he ever explain why his home is full of it? its pretty weird for a guy who hates socialism Weirdly, he claims that he keeps it there to remind him of the evils of communism ("of the subjugation of art to ideology and the horrors of the USSR"). Which is why I decorate my house in hentai and pictures of murder victims. He claims that he also appreciates the art, which is more plausible. This article calls him on it. It's another of Peterson's grand statement that he won't be pinned down on.
