Yesterday while I was at work, my boss once again asked me how much food I have at my place. She was not satisfied with my answer so she booted me out of the shop for an hour to go do some groceries. Tomorrow I have to go to a larger chain to get my meds and I really hope it's not a poo poo show. She also told me to stock up on pet food for my birds. Good call because there was only one bag of budgie food and I was getting low because one of the shitheads got inside the seed bag. Are supply chains expected to be interrupted or delayed? I have enough to keep me & my wife properly fed and wiped for a couple weeks but if panicky shoppers are buying everything the stores will get for the foreseeable future I may have to join them.

I run a business with 4 employees, we're all young and in decent shape and work outdoors. Absolutely no health training whatsoever. Anybody think there'll be demand for scutwork type disinfection or cleaning in a hospital environment? In the US obviously , for a good chunk of money hourly we'd all be willing to do it assuming we get training on all the PPE usage.

Too late. But I wouldn't worry. My local store got basically picked clean Saturday and this morning. The clerk said they tried to limit TP and flour o 2 per person but people became so agitated they decided to give up to protect themselves. However, this noon a new delivery had arrived and they had new TP, flour and everything else. You might not find the same selection of cold cuts such as truffle salami or other perishables but the basics should be there.

Whelp, despite making sure everyone in my office has a laptop so they can work from home, we're currently in "wait and see" mode. Even my supervisor thinks it's stupid, but he thinks we're not going to be allowed to work from home until the county forces us to close. So here's hoping no one gets it in the meantime! Also, STL has banned any gathering of 50+ people for the next eight weeks, so this show I was going to go to in April is out. Ticketmaster's not showing it as cancelled though, so I can't get my refund yet. Hope they update it soon so I'm not out the money when my boyfriend might be out of the job soon since he works in retail.

I'm currently estimating I've got about 4 weeks of "food," and with the emergency kits that could be stretched to 6, or 8 weeks. I was at the grocery store this morning because my roommate used up all the detergent, some weird things are still on the shelf, like dry soup kits, so I grabbed a couple of those. It's going to be a wild ride.

I advise going to a local shelter and adopting a few dogs. Best case they will provide companionship and distraction during these trying times. Worst case... hey, free meat.

The only reason there's a trucker shortage is the government still thinks having weed in your system should disqualify you from getting a CDL. That's an easy fix, and they could put a lot of laid-off restaurant workers right to work!
