So at this stage Queensland is still going ahead with local gov elections - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-16/council-elections-your-guide-how-to-vote/11998838 Surely someone will come to their senses before the 28th.

edit: in other QLD is the smart state news the police just announced ( https://mypolice.qld.gov.au/news/2020/03/16/static-rbt-statement/ ) they wont be doing any road side testing for drugs or alcohol so with hospitals soon to be packed up it's certainly the time to get hosed up and go for a spin. I doubt it will actually affect the number of people driving under the influence but I just can't think of a reason to tell the public this.

whats the deal with scripts that have a limit on how regularly you can collect? I cant get my next script for dexies until the end of the month, so im assuming i will probably get laughed off asking to stock up an extra months worth in advance?

It's a PBS thing for some drugs. In some cases you can get a larger private script. Not sure about the controlled drugs like your dexies and my oxycodone, though.

I work with this older fella, late stage baby boomer and Jesus Christ can he loving go on and on and on. Like he will start a story, get stuck on details, then go into another story for 10 minutes about a specific detail, then back to the original story. Just Christ man i just wanted to know how your weekend was not about the time you had a robbery scare at your house and how your cousin lost 3 brothers and how his kid's a junkie

I get some looks in the lunch room because I make my own tacos at work. I bring in the filling, salsa, and tortillas (made at home bar the tortillas mainly because mine aren't as good as the corn tortillas I get from fireworks foods in Parra)

Warm the filling in microwave and the tortillas in the sandwich press and assemble.

This week is al pastor, with a Michoacan avo and tomatillo salsa and a roasted capsicum salsa

Last week was Oaxacan adobo pork with a pineapple Pico de Gallo

Yes I'm being extra, no I don't care

Up early today to join the crowd of panic buyers to obtain my two weeks supply of necessary items. No queue to get in, only seven other shoppers in store, shelves fully stocked, no hold up at checkout. Well Done Dan Murphy.

At what point is it no longer Karen's fault that there's no bog rolls on the shelves and it becomes the supply chains fault for not scaling up a bit?

Karen Demand always expands to meet available production. This is like the first law of economics.

I think you’re thinking too small tbh. I kind of think maybe a system where supply chains need to scale up production to meet an irrational demand in order to supply people with basic necessities is the issue truely at fault here

Bog roll manufacturers scaled up a couple of weeks ago. The demand just keeps increasing to ever more irrational levels.

The reason I ask this is because they've had limits on how much you can purchase for a while now yet shelves still sit bare. A some point stock should catch up if people are only allowed to take 1 packet.

Meanwhile, factories are supposedly cranking out bog roll 24/7 and the few times I've been near the shops I don't see anyone carting it out.

The labour to physically put the poo poo on the shelves probably isnt there. Id say lots of shops would have back rooms choking with stock but have a deficit of 50-100 man-hours a day to actually put it out. The worse the deficit gets the less efficient the remaining work is going to be too. Hard as it might be to beleive you cant just hire shelf stockers and have them do useful work, it takes many months before someones competent enough to start being a net-gain to the business, and the supermarkets dont like letting you hire new stockers more than once a year.

Someone was telling me woolies were going to shut stores for a day to catch up which is unheard of. Like ive been in shops where the roof has collapsed and 3 aisles of stock destroyed but it didnt stop them trading they just put some barriers around it and went on as normal.
