I should have bought CZR puts on margin like I was debating. Just because it would have worked out this time though doesn't mean it was a good idea, that would have been a very bad lesson to learn.

Buying some KSS to.

Also just lmao at APRN, i was watching it as a ‘maybe it pop because people eating at home’ meme play but it just drifted down with everything else so i ignored it. Suddenly up 80% like the market just now realized what they do. Ive never seen the kind of stupid lag on moves as there has been the last 2 months.

Same. Wasn't worth the risk.

Keep going up and down today. Gonna hold all my 4/17 put positions, have Disney, zillow, Tesla, SPY, and Wynn, and Best Buy. Down a lot on Best Buy and doen some on Disney.

That did look like it had reached bottom, you are right. I probably would have sold on Friday as well and be kicking myself. (I'd actually be happy with the gains). I already know I made more with the plays I was comfortable holding over the weekend compared to having bought CZR at the same time and selling Friday so I guess I made the right move for me.

Sometimes you need to look at what you almost did and see if you actually would have sold mid position. I totally would have.

I bought 5/15 for DIS, my thought at the time was it might take an earnings report for the market to actually turn on them. I bought when they announced they were closing some parks because that seemed like the news that should trigger the decline, I'm fully expecting these to pay something. I'd expect 4/17 to at least break even though. I am by no means an expert at this though.

It's technically more complex but practically speaking that's all that needs to be said. The same management teams, directors, and activist investors who loudly banged the drums for share buybacks so the ratios could be goosed and they all got a little richer are now crying for handouts. gently caress them. That's not how the free market works.

yeah. I made a 100% return so i really shouldn't be complaining. just one of those circumstances where you intellectually know you did the prudent thing at the time but still feel the what-could-have-beens anyway.

looks like PTON is also in the same boat. sloping down, then *click* people figure out what they do and it allows people to workout at home while holed up during a virus.

Who buys the CZR puts if the company goes under or almost under?

Is there any liquidity on those contracts right now?

So many companies down huge every day: casinos, airlines, and Boeing. I don’t buy puts bc spreads are huge and I’m like how much lower can it go. :sigh:

Alright, I’ll take a look at opening some put positions today.

I was looking at 6 strike puts yesterday morning when it was trading around 6.50 and they had a pretty big spread. I wanna say they were 0.90 to 1.20.

Stock is halted at 4.19 now.

IMO we haven't seen the bottom yet, not until day to day life is completely obliterated in all of the US, and from the way this is being handled, it will.

SPY $240 4/17. Expensive but still making a profit. Also eyeing BAC $19 puts for mid-April but not sure yet. I want to see what kind of bailout shenanigans the WH shits out.

I am just now starting to see fed/state employees being ordered to work from home starting this coming week so we're definitely not at the bottom, yet.

under and "almost under" are different situations. if they go "almost under" you're fine. your puts will automatically be sold 10 min before expiry to an entity that immediately exercises them for pennies on the dollar.

if the company actually goes under, your puts are worthless.

I would imagine it would be shareholders who were asleep at the wheel during all this and trying not to lose everything. At that point though, puts would have to be discounted a bit from their intrinsic value for them to be at all desirable.

Basically zero today, right? Any bailout would require an act of Congress, and so far as I know they haven't even come to terms on the inadequate baby bill that was floated last week.
