democrats: means tested tax credits on small business entrepreneurship
republicans: what if socialism... but with nationalism :thunk:

If there's a bright side, this poo poo is full-on radicalizing some of my more "normie" friends and even my mom. It's becoming increasingly obvious that there's tons of room in the Republican Party for politicians like Tom Cotton who favor robust social programs that will help workers, but will wrap the whole thing in fascism, or in other words

homeless snail posted:

republicans: what if socialism... but with nationalism :thunk:

And it scares the poo poo out of my fairly-moderate liberal friends who are suddenly realizing that maybe the Democrats are playing them and are useless in the fight against fascism.

Comparing fighting a mook in one game to a slow-motion cinematic camera move on the other isn't really fair? I could find a clip of Sekiro where you just stab a weak enemy and it wouldn't look all that fancy either...

Only real thing you can say here is "nioh doesn't have a grappling hook" which like yeah, that's unfortunate, but lmao at judging every game that way.

Both games are incredibly fun and have deep combat.

My friends and I tried something a little weird with Divinity Original Sin 2 last night. Friend B joined online and Friend C, who doesn't own the game, joined me through Remote Play Anywhere. We were able to all play the game together that way! And it worked perfectly, I hadn't had a reason to try the local multi for DOS2 but drat did they do an incredible job with it.

I get what you're saying but also in Sekiro even fighting a weak enemy is pretty cinematic and cool feeling. Also you could just as well die to that weakling if you flub it up.

it can be. Fighting a mook in nioh 2 can also be cinematic. But if you're saying that there is no way to dispatch a mook in sekiro that doesn't look rote... that is not true.

The existence of video of that does not disprove the other existing, you see the point?

Nonsense, both games are in the very coherent and not at all over-broad Soulslike genre, therefore they can be compared 1:1.

I haven't played Nioh but does the term "Souls-Like" even really apply to it? I always got the impression that it was much closer to the Ninja Gaiden games in pretty much everything except for the stamina bar.

Yes it is 100% a souls-like in every sense.

Its ninja gaiden in that it has deeper fighting system moves approaching ninja gaiden or DMC, but the game's structure is 100% move from bonfire to bonfire, enemies respawn when you die, etc.

Which, I mean, if we're really splitting hairs Ninja Gaiden was like a proto-souls-like in many ways. But it didn't have leveling up at bonfires so

honestly i'd rank "it's ninja gaiden with a stamina bar" as being one of nioh's major problems tbh

I think the biggest break from the core Souls games is that it's not one cohesive world but a series of levels you pick from a world map

One big difference between Nioh and Souls is Nioh's gear system, which is a random-loot Diablo-like system instead of the Souls-style fixed item locations. Nioh has random attributes on gear, gear sets, crafting, and things like that which can really vary what your equipment does for you.
