Was very happy this morning selling the Mar20 SPY230 puts I bought at the peak yesterday for 100% gain this morning at open instead of doing what I kept doing wrong last week getting burned being greedy but this time greedy could have gotten me 200%. Gambling is an emotional rollercoaster.

so you are mad that you didn't immediately buy it back for the same price for a 50% profit later in the day? You would rather be the guy you sold it to that spent more on the premium and only made 50% than doubling up?

Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.
Some clown on WSB posted a graph from Goldman Sachs illustrating that for the past two weeks, the direction of the market between 3pm and close was opposed in the morning until 10 am.

It works until it doesn't.

I think the first person to find a company with a share price under their next expected dividend payment should get a thread award. Company still has to be listed and can’t have announced a suspension or reduction yet.

Also can dividends be recalled? Like suppose we’re past the ex-div but it hasn’t been paid yet and suddenly the company needs cash. Where’s the money held? This had to happen in 2008.

Yeah I know - Gov said "I wouldn't allow it" and "I dont think we're there yet."

De Blasio probably COULD just do it though.

you know, if a lot of the liquidity-related crashing in days like today is due to deleveraging, maybe there should be tighter regulations/rules on leverage?

Pick at least a dozen, at least some brands are going extinct or will be bought out (which could still be a payday when you hold the stock).

That’s been obvious since before the great depression. But the finance manipulation guys would make a lot less money so they bought the law making guys to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Ah I can see it now rated NC-17 for constantly using homophobic language. If you leave that out of the story you aren't capturing the "charm" of WSB (it's a toxic place where they gleefully wish for companies to burn and people go on the street all so they can have a chicken nugget).

I have started to short individual stocks now instead of the overall market. Anything outdoor(services/entertainment), airlines, gas, financials and TSLA. That being said I sold most of my puts and rerolled into some strangles instead because I feel like we might get the same whiplash with another bounce tomorrow.

reddit is claiming there will be a huge short squeeze Friday before close with 211m shares of SPY having to be purchased due to expiring options, and SPY going to the moon as a result.

how much of that is pure bullshit vs. possibly real, legit analysis?
