There's a prof at the university here whose two favourite areas of expertise is 1. Tits, chickadees, and other birds of the Paridae family, and 2. Wombats. He tells classes about a project he was involved in as younger man, trying to teach wombats how to run from predators. See, in Australia there aren't many native predators of wombats that aren't reptiles, and reptiles tend to operate in short bursts of speed and then they're worn out, so when startled by a predator, what wombats do is run a little ways and then stop to look back to see what was after them. This works fine with a big old lizard, but mammalian predators have more stamina and will run longer, and unfortunately humans have introduced a number of mammalian predators to Australia which will kill and eat a wombat when they stop after the initial flight. So yeah, a whole program dedicated to teaching wombats to keep running when a cat got after them. It did not go particularly well, I gather. Anyway that's been my strongest wombat associated thought for a few years now.
