Hashy posted:i hope these 'low risk' people dont have to go shopping or to work. when low risk people get infected they infect more low risk people which infects high risk people and removes critical hospital beds from people who may or may not have even ever had the coronavirus. maybe skip the wedding By low risk I mean people who aren't at risk of being exposed, not at low risk of the virus killing them. I'm sure people who have been exposed would be smart enough not to come to the wedding, we had to change the entire venue last minute to accommodate new coronavirus measures Also it'll probably be the last wedding my grandma is around for so we're going ahead with it

McSpergin posted:We're ok, it's under 100 people All of these measures countries are taking - shutting down all gatherings like weddings and schools - the poo poo Australia isn't doing right now - it is not because they care if a bunch of 20-40 year olds get it (although its looking more and more like a significant number of those people actually do end up needing to be hospitalised - the CDC report that came out 2 days ago says 14-20% so far in america) it is because you and everyone like you will spread the virus faster and wider. Until your folks wind up in hospital with everyone else at the same time and you come on here to complain that they can't get on a ventilator because the hospital is completely swamped because the government didn't do enough to slow down the spread. It is incredibly selfish to think that because you probably won't be very sick its all good mate.

Woolies in Camberwell was weirdly quiet and not very ransacked this morning. There was pasta and rice available, didn't check bog scrolls Maybe the 2 item limit is having the intended effect Fresh food market was not that busy, poultry places were running low on eggs at 9:30ish but not yet out. Lots of meat available Fruit & Veg pretty much normal

It's the people who are unaware they've been exposed who are most likely to spread this far and wide because they see no reason to change their daily behaviour to minimise contact with people outside their household.

Was it a clapping song like patty-cake and you poked each other for the "poke poke poke" bit? Also TIL the "Wash your face in orange juice" song isn't a random playground rhyme, it's a kids' song called Mr Clicketty Cane by Peter Combe, who was kind of a proto-Wiggle from the 80's.
