Could be worse, my brother didn't know Discord auto-notified games people play by default and I saw him playing porn. Worked it into a discreet "gosh, it looks like the last update turned this feature on, glad I caught that."

The best thing about the doom story is the reveal that Doomguy is a goon who reads comics and plays video games when not killing demons. Also his gooncave has a shelf for all the collectable toys you find.

Logan 5 posted:Only tangentially related to DOOM: is there a good thing to use still for idling your games for card drops? I haven't payed any attention to cards really since they were worth some decent amount of nickels and dimes, beyond just selling a booster pack when I get it and occasionally making a badge (listen I needed that Katamari's King of All Cosmos background alright) Idle Master Extended will do this for you by telling Steam you're playing various games until it gives you drops. TURN YOURSELF INVISIBLE IN YOUR FRIENDS LIST WHEN YOU USE IT. During certain periods it quickly cycles through the idled games, making the drops happen faster but also spamming your friends with "XXX has joined game YYY" messages. Listing all the cards is still a pain in the rear end. I changed Augmented Steam's "Quick Sale Modifier" to $0.00 so I could list them at the current lowest price with one click in Chrome (Settings -> Community -> Inventory). Your account will still be flagged for listing a bunch of cards at once and you'll have to confirm each one in the app :/ Still worth it in the end, though I'm sitting on ~200 cards that didn't sell that I need to get around to relisting. E: I see people already discussed the notifications

I wonder if we need a quarantine gaming thread just with info about good games to play and how to play them/somewhere to organize people for it. Probably not. SA is kinda small these days.

Mordheim is a good at what it is, but if you don't like strange direct control turn based tactical combat games with unforgiving strategic layers you're not gonna have fun. Chaosbane is a mess.

Mordheim is really fun to goof around in but I, personally, would not have very much fun playing it competitively. Not really a knock on the game, it seems like it has a ton of depth and the devs put some work into balancing a million possible equipment loadouts, but there's just way too much going on for me to process it all. edit: and I guess it's a testament to the game's strength that I still find it fun to goof around in even though I'd never stand a chance against an organized team. The chaotic nature of the maps still makes it feel cool to hang back and take pot-shots or flank in expecting people

I haven't seen it mentioned here (sorry if I missed it), but apparently the following games are free to add to your library right now: Announcement quote:We’re warmed by stories of communities banding together to support those in need during uncertain times, and by honoring directives intended to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Apparently, Square has a bunch of budget games on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/687260/Tokyo_Dark/ Some so obscure they don't have enough reviews for a rating after two years. https://store.steampowered.com/app/614090/Deadbeat_Heroes/ "hand picked & published through indie visibility initiative – Square Enix Collective."

In Doom Eternal, the player will often enter a new combat arena to find the demons already fighting each other. I'm asking whether there's some sort of civil war in hell in the intricate lore of the Doom series. Also, whether the monsters will actually eventually kill each other if the player waits long enough before drawing their attention.

Doom 2016/Eternal lore is great, making you a John Wick type figure to the demons, as well as the huge variety of different bits of corporate greed and whatnot. The new Doom games are absolute slam dunks in all respects.

Twitch can basically do the same thing as it's unlikely, though not impossible, that some random person is gonna wander through a four or five person stream, though the lag time on it might be annoying.
