The main thing I remember about Megamind was how when it came out in theaters it was clear that someone at Dreamworks got cold feet about the whole "main character is the villain" thing. Because even though the plot of the movie is Megamind learning how to be a better person the marketing campaign went right ahead and laid out the entire story, including the twist that the good guy fakes his own death at the beginning of the movie.

I remember seeing early concept artwork for that movie and his design being much more villainy, think Mars Attacks. Then they just slapped a goober Dreamworks face on him.

Since y'all are talking about this, I saw Big Hero 6 the other day and it's essentially " A group of San-Fran Tech-Bros defend a Tech billionaire from retribution.". Extremely disappointing for a Pixar film. Wait *doublechecks* Okay, it ISN'T a Pixar film, just a "Walt Disney" film. still lovely though

Megamind as initially conceived would have been great, but you can smell how severely the movie was nerfed. I'd say it's "ok" but nothing special, aside from pointing out that the average schlubby comic loving dude--if given superpowers--would absolutely be an rear end in a top hat within like, 20 minutes, max, particularly if the girl he wanted still wouldn't date him.

Megamind is Will Farrell, Jonah Hill, Tina Fey, and David Cross. The movie is salvageable if for no other reason than that. But also I like it. It's nothing incredible, but it's good for an easy kids movie. Just don't compare it to Pixar('s non-sequel movies) and it's fine.
