It's also really misleading yourself to think it'll only kill the people the flu would kill. Yes, the same part of the population most vulnerable to the flu is also most vulnerable to this. However, this will kill 10-100 times more people in that group than the average flu...

My wife was saying that Pharmacies in China (at least her part of the country) are really pushing antibiotics right now. They're being touted as a way of preventing Covid 19 from taking a hold of you.

Only good thing about China's antibiotics deal is I was able to just walk into a pharmacy and buy some when I had a sinus infection I'd had often enough that I knew how to treat without going to the hell that is a Chinese hospital.

I did a few effort posts about antibiotic use in China, but now they're actively pushing it as a Covid 19 preventative measure. Before it was just a random pill they threw in the trail mix bag of pills they gave everyone for everything. What's different now is that they're telling people that antibiotics (by name) are the solution.

I just don't understand why. China has actual doctors, they understand what antibiotics are for. I get random people having no clue but why would medical professionals push people to take potentially harmful medicines that you can be 1000% sure will not help with the disease? I don't think they even profit off it the way US pharma companies do, though that seems like the most obvious explanation.

I don't think they even profit off it the way US pharma companies do, though that seems like the most obvious explanation. From what her father is saying, it's pretty much limited to Pharmacies. . . so not a doctor in sight. Just guys who spend 300 RMB to get their Pharma cert. I think the real selling point is that they want people to come into their stores to get the antibiotics, then they upsell them with a ton of TCM which is the stuff that has a real profit margin, as antibiotics are cheaper than dirt in China. Alan Smithee posted:new age quackery is white guilt manifest This is especially true of Germany. They can't get enough FN artwork. All of the local First Nations artists back home (Manitoulin Island has a ton) pretty much have assembly lines where they paint the same painting (like 5 copies at once) and just box them up and ship them to their distributor in Germany.
