I guess I'm confused on how I'm supposed to visit them. Some of them are goons and I don't have dms so I can't send a dodo code. When I go to the airline and search for available islands to visit it says there are none. How can I search them or visit them?

Caught both a Sturgeon and a Stringfish today. Maybe I really do just have bizarrely good fish RNG Also, I'm really glad I got Bunnie early, she's my favorite neighbor so far. Word is that once you unlock the town hall you finally get hourly music variations but boy is that a long time to spend with the same track. It's possible that the track never changing before Town Hall is a bug though so it might get patched.

nate seems cool. my villagers aren't too bad. I like jay and walker most out of them so far just 'cause they're so positive. deindre (sp?) has her good days and bad. I forget the new person's name but she seems sweet if a little unsure of herself. I hope my next neighbour tomorrow is fun and quirky to round out the cast.

I caught my first coelacanth today. And poof, my rod broke. Seemed fitting. Crafted a new one and the next hook was my first oarfish. Got another coelacanth soon after to sell for some bells. Was a good evening of fishing.

The turbo function on the Split Pad Pro is a god send when crafting bait. No rumble so fishing feels a bit weird but not too big a deal.

So the tarantula island trick can sort of be used to target fish as well. If you have an island with a layout that can get you the fish you want (i.e. an inlet for sturgeon), and is simple to navigate, you can keep quickly scaring off all the fish spawns until you get one that might be the fish you want. I got 3 sturgeon on an island that had a stream cutting around it to the inlet so all I had to do was run along the stream and ocean occasionally using my pole to hop the stream as well. After removing spawns for a bit eventually Id have a large shadow in the inlet. It isnt the most financially sound method for bells, but might be good for sturgeon and stringfish. Im going to try and get an island with a small cliff river to try for a stringfish tomorrow.
