That and what amounts to political education is deliberately incoherent, with many mainstream American political ideologies being built around incompatible ideas. Hillary Clinton just said the quiet part loud with 'public and private position', though Prester Jane might call it 'outer and inner narratives'; it's pretty easy to figure out from observation and materialistic analysis what the actual priorities of politicians and political parties are, but they put a lot of effort into obscuring those, and creating narratives to justify whatever's convenient to them.
