Lolie posted:My neighbour is a nurse. I think it's a combination of boredom and not wanting to cancel planned events. I am still seeing alot of people at cafes and filling supermarkets on my way into work and it's really getting to me bad. Found out earlier that one of my fuckhead aunts (who spends 90% of her time at the nursing home her mother is in) went and visited my nan who has been incredibly well behaved for a change keeping herself quarantined (she has just finished a round of chemo and has respitory issues and has never been able to sit still) because she was bored and they wouldn't let her back into the nursing home her mum is in. A nursing home I know for a fact has several confirmed cases in it. Mum and I flipped out and she doesn't understand why we're so angry and why people are being so about it all. Until we have large waves of people dying most people won't accept how serious it actually is and the current wishy washy messaging isn't helping at all.

Also, this sent me into a rage today at a Westfield. Lady at the shop got really pissed I took a photo. At the aged/disability house I run I have enough masks for 1 shift and I am giving them to another house that has a resident that has been exposed. This type is pretty useless, but it's better than nothing. We are down to begging the national stockpile for supplies. If it hits these houses it's going to be a bloodbath. A vast majority of the residents are goners if they catch it and the staff will be screwed.

I was losing sleep thinking about going into the CBD every day. Now I have to work on a laptop on two IKEA trays in a tiny apartment since my wife is also working from home, but I'll take it. We'll probably all be forced home soon anyway unless Scomo decides to sacrifice us all for the line graph.

My daughter went to the shops today and two separate stores were so overstocked with nappies that they'd filled the toilet paper and tissue shelves with them. The entire pasta section was filled with lasagna sheets, apparently. Aldi has seeds for 99 cents a packet starting Wednesday if anyone wants to expand/start their victory garden. I still think there should be some kind of anti hoarding measures temporarily in the stores. Not sure what you'd do to enforce it but something along the lines of ID scanning like at pubs in Qld but at the check out and it has people's family data and purchase history. So instead of item limits it'd be family limits or something. So if you're like stealthy and have 4 kids your allowance for stuff is higher than if you're a single person? Idk Basically people hoarding should be shot in to the loving sun tbh Because I'm running low on TP AND can't get it anywhere locally easily Makes me wish I'd signed up for who gives a crap earlier
