There really no idea on how many people really have it since the testing is limited. We won't know the actual lethality of this thing for a while lol. The Stat is relevant if you know u got it and are forced to the hospital tho lol

I think there's self selection effects you're not taking proper account of. You have to get tested and hospitalized which means having a case severe enough you don't just tank it at home, ignore it, or have an asymptomatic or very very light version that just keeps it around in the air.
You might be right and it is in fact actually that bad but even then there can over time come better treatments and a vaccine, which could smoothly transition us into work for medicine corporate feudalism.
Basically there's too many pathways still for that kind of resignation but maybe your right in which case my last thought will be "Welp. Shovelbum was right lol"

Someone I know is an xray tech gal for the GA prison system assigned to death row she tells me about prisoners who harm themselves to just get seen by the nurses for a variety of rreasons.Besides her probably already having this I can see people doing that too. Plus people need to bring them food and that's just like the cruise ship situation where the crew was infected. I can see some chud cop working and still infecting the prisoners. Also, no showers for 2 weeks? I've been in a state mental hospital with no hot water and had to wash from a sink and I can tell you that poo poo sucks. I don't know what the answer is for the violent criminals but for nonviolent criminals let them out

Today I heard rumors from my horrible chud side of the family that my relative who has molested a kid and been found downloading kid porn, is out and sheltering for the duration of the pandemic in a house with a little girl there every day. He didn't go through the system for the kid crimes though, he was in for arson, so that counts as nonviolent?

I know that the larger systemic solution has to include letting out the nonviolent criminals. But loving hell, domestic violence and crimes on kids is going to be going through the roof.

They're already required to advance triage patients based on comorbidities to decide which ones get ventilators in some hospitals. I totally agree with you and my soul is crushed. I just want to go camping but I'll likely will never leave my apartment again unless it's to go to a grocery store. I can't catch this because I'll die. I'm so scared

Are they triaging based on useful rebuilding skills at all? A young doctor or crane operator or whatever who had a bad mole removed decades ago should probably get some consideration

Mainly because for their test methodology anyone could request to get tested for free.
