Rekieta's odd tangent about voice actors being geniuses but then saying if Huber was doing what Nick thought he was doing was really stupid was a delight.

An uncountable number, to be sure.
I'm sure a smart high school kid could pass the Bar exam, assuming they studied for it about as much as anyone else needs to.

It's entirely possible but it isn't like "Oh well it'll be easy." I took practice exams when I was in high school while applying to colleges and even as an easier 'practice' thing they required me to study my rear end off.

It depends on how long they can study because only a literal prodigy is going to pass with the typical Bar Review two month period with no real exposure to law school. Plus, the time constraints take some true discipline.

Plus, even said prodigy is going to be turbo hosed because most examiners are looking for how you apply the law to the facts rather than rote memorization, and you might be dealing with an exam one term that wants to do something goofy like “I wonder how much they know about property law when buying wetlands, or how much they stayed awake during the commercial paper section of the review.”

Pretty much everyone in my group was taken completely off guard by how many mortgage questions were on our exam, we still remember that poo poo to this day despite show we took it over half a decade ago

You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and be a llama?

iirc his lawyer is supposed to be a business/estate/tax lawyer, and it's possible that he's not totally incompetent at doing that

TBF as poorly as he's done here I'd be shocked if he wasn't incompetent but weirder things have happened

As a friend put it, the dumbest person to pass the bar is still a lawyer.

There's a YouTube channel called Legal Eagle where the guy is a for-real lawyer and explains stuff for the layperson and I would love for him to look at the Vic case especially as he probably has lots of time on his hands now. I wouldn't want to see what that would do to his comment section however.

Yeah, LE is fantastic and YT's algorithm pointed me towards him a while back when I went to revisit My Cousin Vinny's key testimony scene, as he had done a video on it. I've been a subscriber ever since, and while he has done a video on SLAPP suits, namely the one involving John Oliver, it seems more recently he's been focused on Trump stuff, like the impeachment and the whether the election could be delayed. But yeah, based on what I know it appears that he has zero interest in anime or geek or fandom stuff so he'd be a great impartial voice to sound off on all of this.

Didn't he and HBomberGuy lowkey discussed in a wink-wink sort of way during their collaboration video? I distinctly remember because while they didn't name any names, Bomberguy straight up said a "certain voice actor" or something along those lines and the LE guy had the body language of like "That guy is an idiot, let's not get involved with that".

Yeah I think parts of lawtwitter were discussing the case on the down low, because a bunch of ISWV'ers went to town and harassed people or got them mass reported, so they wisely kept it quiet to avoid the crazies

Lawyers love to pass around 'oh my god look at what this guy did' just as much as any other profession. At the very least so they can remember not to do it themselves.

I definitely did this to a law school friend that now primarily does Federal court diversity jurisdiction cases these days. She was in complete disbelief that this can even happen in civil practice these days.

But at least in my experience, law school was never too keen on exposing a "bad" example of a real life something for obvious reasons; but this though...

When I was in law school my civil procedure professor would give us assignments where he would find crazy and terrible filings and say "you're opposing counsel, respond to this. Have fun."
