It's legitimately funny how strong govt laws are for disease outbreaks, it's very clear they were written back when every politician had grown up in eras of constant death from disease, knew tons of people who'd died from them, and took it insanely seriously

The main problem is that people view chuds as just like themselves, but with a different background which didn't expose them to the same liberal ideas. In reality these are mainly people who have literal real life brain damage due to chemical exposure. Scott Adams is a perfect example, as is Dinesh D'Souza. They are not capable of critical thinking, empathy or regret.

Once their comfort and safety has been compromised they become more open to basic arguments about how lovely our social safety net is and why it needs to be vastly improved. They have no ability to empathize with anyone in a different situation than theirs, so it requires them personally experiencing unemployment, loss of medical insurance, huge medical bills, etc... Even then that doesn't always work. I've seen CHUDs with disabled kids and I absolutely can't understand how they can support a party that is actively trying to hurt those kids and would prefer it if they just didn't exist at all.

The vast majority of trump voters were middle class to wealthy white people. For the most part you will not ever convince those people to see your side because your own politics is directly competing against theirs materially.
