I got tested Tuesday, and called my Doctor for results on Friday as I hadn't been contacted by the Dept of Health here. Was told it would take 24-48 hours, and to call on the 3rd day if I hadn't heard anything as there was a backlog on testing. Was not allowed inside my Doctor's office, and the initial consult was done over the phone, and then I went to a speciality facility to get tested. They are 100% not loving around with this poo poo in Australia. All in all I have 0 complaints, other than having a swab to the back of my throat and nose sucked royally. Going to ask to work from home come Monday, as I've lost a few days of being legitimately sick, and I don't want to risk my health any further. Not sure what I'll do if they say I have to come into work, but they would be denying me WFH resources which are available.

Husband bought a couple of face masks back in mid-January because he thought he was going to repaint the bathroom and then procrastinated on it. We found them today while cleaning only to discover they're marked N95, aka the stuff that health care workers are dangerously low on. I would not have thought to check general face masks that were just "don't want to upset my asthma while painting indoors" until we did, but if anyone else out there has supplies for general maintenance, check and see if you have one of those rare good ones. tldr: PSA: masks you bought randomly from Home Depot pre-hoarding might actually be the hospital-grade good stuff, and can be donated to a local facility. Very glad you're okay, Infinitum, and thanks for the sympathy. It's gonna be a bloodbath here in the US.
