i have a stainless carafe where the hole in the top is too small for my hand to fit through, so over the last year or so it's had a slowly darkening interior from all the coffee stains/residue after some trial and error, turns out the correct way to clean it is to dump some powdered dishwasher soap into it, then fill it with water and let it soak overnight, then scrub the inside a bit with a dish brush then rinse it a ton to make sure the soap is washed out tried the same thing with vinegar as well as liquid dish soap and neither of them worked. apparently needs to be powdered for some reason

All forms of coffee preparation other than the use of a Moka are decadent and counterrevolutionary exercises in bourgeois formalism.

I been chucking my cheap rear end bean grinder to my power drill and it works well enough. But there's gotta be something better. I hate the sound of electric grinders though. Is there a super quiet version of an electric bean grinder? Also, I buy my beans from https://www.darkhorsecoffeeroasters.com/ and their Fruit Party is my favorite

put the hand crank on your grinder. those burr grinders are notorious for failing and fragging out when people try the power drill trick. every single person that's bought one has tried it. get the exercise.

i use one of these loud as gently caress but it seems to work well enough.

I want to make some quip about how they suck at holding a power drill and not side-loading the rotating assembly but yeah it's been on my mind... I have a hipster friend who has this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BINDXC4 And maybe this is good? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GPMH590 My little cheap grinder is just too "catchy" and I'm kinda tired of it. Maybe this poo poo....it seems pretty baller and comes from Taiwan (by way of China) which I appreciate. https://www.1zpresso.co/all-grinders gently caress plastic by and large though...I don't need more plastic stuff... President Beep posted:i use one of these i use the exact same one and it is a workhorse as my simple grinder for almost a decade now. its not a burr grinder by any means but itll do a quick week of corse beans and its easy enough to clean by sticking it in the dish washer top rack once every few months when i would get my beans i would have them ground at the shop but doing it more frequently at home is fine for me even if the blade grinders seem to make a bit more sludge in my french press

President Beep posted:is that the big fault with them? I’d been wondering. yep you'll get some Powder at the bottom with blade grinders. burr grinders really can't grind it up smaller than the gap between the....for lack of a better term, rotor and stator
