last night I set my alarm for 8:30, knowing that my cat would wake me up earlier than that to be.fed breakfast. no big deal. I go to sleep and he wakes me up sometime later meowing. I get out of bed and get some cat food out. I notice that it is way earlier than I thought - 2am. I figure that he'll just get an early breakfast. I give him his food and go back to sleep.

he wakes me up around 6:30 - usual breakfast time. I go over and check his food bowl - still plenty of food. he refuses to leave me alone and seems to be actually upset when I don't give him his breakfast. I eventually give im and sprinkle a small portion of kibble on top of the wet food that is already in the dish. pleased that I have completed my part of the ritual, he tucks into the food and leaves me alone.

I have a similar deal with Noot, she likes to creep up behind me and scratch my chair/butt to get my attention when I don't seem to be coming up with the goods and won't look at existing food so I do the same fake sprinkle and she buys it every time.
