This is also why they don't like Bernie. They don't really know what he's saying, but they know that the tone is sometimes angry, which causes them to raise their hackles. Biden, on the other hand, just has a sort of "plaintive" tone to his speech, so it keeps them calm and doesn't spook them like Bernie does. This makes sense. So its kinda a freakonomics situation with the boomers in regard to the lead in gasoline. I was talking to my dad yesterday. He's pretty bummed out Bernie didn't win because he knows that after biden things are going to get a lot worse. He is worried for the grandkids because they will be entering the job market in the next republican administration.

Hey, I think Joe is a demented racist creep who should not elected office - but what exactly is the issue here? Politician has a celebrity and his wife introduce him with 2 and a half minutes of platitudes, and he touches his eye once (with presumably washed indoor hands), and then makes a lame Boomerish joke about being allowed to talk. Bernie would do the same. Would be easier if people focused on the actual evidence of him being a demented racist rapist creep rather than this James O Keeffe poo poo

It's not like either them directed their campaigns to churn out masks, get volunteers to shop for those at risk or even call to donate blood. Their campaign websites don't even have anything linking to aid or information on how you can help. Bernie's site just has a link to a town hall speech promising action, but like Biden there has been no actual action. It's disappointing that neither have shown any actual leadership or effort beyond election speeches.

As a politician in opposition the foremost thing you can do is to pose a different vision and propose policies to enact said vision, from the current government. That is exactly what Bernie has done. This idea of mobilizing people to counter the shortfall of the current government is some of the most liberal bullshit possible, essentially depleting resources from the bottom of society, to not inconvenience the top. Most of the people voting for Bernie are the very people getting absolutely wrecked by Covid-19 and are getting fired in millions, meanwhile the great liberal minds have cooked up some plans to reduce taxes on the very riches people and telling people to go vote during a pandemic. Bernie is not in power and cannot do much more than he has, and that is a lot more than anyone else.

The article explains it but they're also having a general election for the state supreme court, some judges, and local government. Republicans don't want increased turnout from absentee ballots being mailed out to everyone because it could be disastrous for their positions around the state. Dems want to throw people into the Biden woodchipper collectively so there's not more hoopla about it.

Is there evidence that Biden has done similar outreach? I find it hard to believe that he’s done anything on Bernie’s scale, but surely he’s done something beyond these livestreams?
