No, because money is made up and what capitalism calls growth is just code for overclocking our productive forces to grossly unsustainable lengths so we can have a hundred brands of washing up liquid and bananas in February in Northern Europe

Do you know how the Conservapedia guy was convinced that Fidel Castro was secretly dead, like 15 years before he actually died, and kept insisting so against all evidence or logic? I think I'm going to become him if they keep claiming that Boris lives.

Jaeluni Asjil posted:If almost all countries have suffered economically from the virus, then they all remain (relatively speaking) in proportion to each other, so does 'economic recovery' matter on the macroscale? The source of capital is labour. The only way to gain any advantage is to reduce the amount of labour lost due to lockdowns and illness absences. Also, the places that fall deep into recession are more likely to see defaults on its loans and similar assets. That's going to see a lot of collateral assets falling into the hands of the capital class at a point where they're producing no value and might not have any local buyers interested. Any place that does get an advantage could be in a position to claim these assets for a low price as their prize and begin harvesting them for capital once the labour force returns. If you were expecting some kind of collaborative globalist operation to mitigate the economic damage worldwide, the only question I'd have is 'why would they?' Even if he doesn't die, he's going to be out of action for a long time now. Just cause the docs rate him as 'not imminently about to die' and send him home doesn't mean he'll be back at work next Tuesday. It's going to be a very long and unprecedented period where he's around but not running the show. Has anyone heard from Cummings lately? Last seen running away from No.10 with the rona in tow.
