Ratjaculation posted:99 year old dude raises £8(?)million for NHS Trusts/charities in uplifting act It's more that he raised that money purely due to the promotion it got from the BBC. He was on track for just a fraction of his current value he got until the BBC publicised it and turned it into a facebook style "BRITAIN'S GOT SPIRIT" event. Fair play to him doing that at his age, but i'm more annoyed that the BBC are getting away with the misuse of this power. I.e. Why's piers Morgan the one sticking it to the government while the BBC are distracting the public with feelgood notions of the NHS being bailed out by charity and fundraising. Edit: I mean, it's raised 13 million just now, and we've got celebrities chipping in with feel good comments for him when they could easily be matching his total by themselves. Meanwhile piers morgan is asking the health secretary why they aren't taking a pay cut like they asked footballers to do. Kin fucked around with this message at 13:23 on Apr 16, 2020 |

Makes sense, if there's gonna be a global depression for years anyway it's gonna be impossible to work out the damage from a bit of hard brexit E and either we stick one in the eye of the EU, which is good, or the UK dies, which is good. As long as we don't go back to a situation where there's a class of people doing the hard physical labour of doing the smelting and another class extracting profit from the sale of the goods they make. I'm all in favour of blacksmiths profiting off the sale of their own goods. "He who smelt it, dealt it", if you will
