You move the thread there, set the tag, then move it back.

First album from Brazilian group Mind Reverse. Heavy rock spiced up fantastically with psych, funk, and prog elements. A wizard appears in the cover art, don't worry.

Posting here because of the High on Fire drummer and Spirit Adrift. Not sure if the latter is relevant to this thread, but with a name like that they probably listen to Sabbath a lot right?

Minus the growling vocals, which I'm not a fan of, that was pretty cool.

Sammy Davis Jr. Jr. is also in repose.
Two Minutes is pretty cool and they've done some pretty good covers. Their cover of Hot for Teacher with Gina Gleason is great. They have a lot of fun with it and also no David Lee Roth, which is a huge plus.

Jesus, Gina Gleason's musical history is a trip:

quote:

As a part of the Cirque du Soleil creation cast, Gleason played lead guitar and performed as the character “The Muse” in the production of Michael Jackson: One by Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas (2012-2017) .[2][3][4]

Gleason co-composed original works for the 2016 Cirque du Soleil production of One Night for One Drop. The production was held live at The Smith Center as well as in theaters and IMAX nationwide.[5]

Gina Gleason sat in with The Smashing Pumpkins during The End Times Tour at The Joint in Las Vegas. She performed with Carlos Santana during his residency at the House of Blues in Las Vegas and played on the Latin Grammys with Grammy award winner Carlos Vives in 2013. She has toured with Brendon Small, creator of Dethklok and co-creator of the animated series Metalocalypse, and with slide guitarist Denny Walley, performing at festivals such as Zappanale in Mecklenburg, Germany. Gina accompanied Jon Anderson of Yes for several performances on tour and at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California. She played with Jello Biafra in 2007 during a performance on his spoken word tour and collaborated with The Good Listeners on the song “Never Good Enough” for the documentary “Don’t Quit Your Daydream”.[6]

As a founding member, Gina fronted and played lead guitar for Misstallica, the all-female Metallica tribute, from 2008-2012 and played lead guitar for Queen Diamond, the all-female King Diamond tribute, from 2008-2011.

My greatest musical sin/guilty pleasure is owning and listening to a couple of David Lee Roth solo albums. I'm not entirely sure why this is either, or why I can stand it better than actual Van Halen. As penance here's a band on the lighter side I found trying to fill out an order, hopefully they haven't been posted in here before:

Oh yeah cool I’m liking this one more right off the bat thanks.

I like that the vocals are a little low in the mix*, I wish most vocals, especially metal, weren’t mixed so prominently. It’s a long-standing pet peeve.

Since I really doubt I'll be going to any shows for a bit, what are everyone's favorite live shows on youtube?

Edit: watched this neat doc tonight about the doom scene in Sheffield https://youtu.be/g7VQATcHXtk

And this is my favorite live show. Bongripper in LA. It's a great recording and it helps that I was there. https://youtu.be/HTMKdpkx-WM

yeah it whips rear end. Not really into black metal by any stretch but this record and the one before are so out there that they hardly track as black metal to me. Lots of kraut/prog/hawkwind vibes which is basically my wheelhouse
