taichi and tam are still in the bargaining phase for panties https://twitter.com/taichi0319/status/1242490197461221376 Tam: I don't know if it's a refund or something, but I'll send iida's pants. Taichi: You said you didn't want to! I'd rather get golli's[Guilia's] pants. I'll get you pants! Sorry I can't do either.

Sendai Girls held the first round of their rookie tournament on Saturday and uploaded it to YouTube earlier on: they uploaded them in a mixed up order (doesn't really matter unless you are a completionist nerd like me) so I thought I'd compile them in the right order into a YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLr4lwBXRJqZs7LHRNDFa7RVBWo0h-U847 Here's the bracket; the date on the graphic is the date they debuted (had to be within the last three years I believe); the number is how old each wrestler is which they included for... some reason - it also includes the promotion that they represent. (from left to right you have Mikoto Shindo, AKARI, Maria, Mei Hoshizuki, Mei Suruga from Gatoh Move, Honori Hana, Natsuho Kaneko from Sendai Girls, Kurea, Yurika Oka from Sendai Girls, Haruka Umesaki and Nanami from Diana and finally Sendai Girls Junior Champion Manami). The show is worth a watch; all of the matches are fun and don't go at all long and if you want to see the people that will be the future of Joshi this tournament is well worth checking out. Pretty mixed up group as well so outside of the Maria-Mei Hoshizuki match (and those two could wrestle every week in my eyes they are great) its mostly combinations that you are unlikely to see again for a long time - perhaps Honori Hana ends up becoming a Gatoh Move regular but, well, I doubt it. Also pretty sure that this is the first time that someone who is credited as being involved with training other wrestlers is themselves wrestling in a rookie tournament (Mei Suruga with the current generation of Gatoh Move rookies). The main event (Meiko Satomura, DASH Chisako and Syuri vs Chihiro Hashimoto, Yuu and Sakura Hirota) is very good - the advantage of the rookie tournament is that it let them load up this main event with all of their top signed talent and some interesting outsiders and everyone works very hard and everyone in this match is good. Spoilers follow: this is an example of Sendai Girls predictable booking being good: I knew exactly what they were going to do and I think one half of the bracket is pretty obvious and I like that it is since it could lead to some exciting matches. Best match was probably Maria-Mei Hoshizuki which shouldn't be surprising since they live and train with each other daily and have wrestled a load in Marvelous between tags and singles matches so they know each other very well; the Yurika Oka-Haruka Umesaki match was very good as well; went five minutes and it was much more intense than I expected. Kaneko looked very good in her debut and Kurea made her look good: its a weird comparison but Kaneko almost feels like someone transplanted one of those random rookies that you see in mid 90s AJW shows and put her in modern Joshi just between her gear and the way that she works and that's interesting. The only match I was disappointed by was the Shindo-AKARI match which started good and then just got really rough in a bad way, felt like the two weren't on the same page which surprised me since Shindo is the best rookie in wrestling at the moment and AKARI has been good whenever I've seen her. Really excited for the Mei Hoshizuki-Mei Suruga match whenever that happens: that is genuinely a very exciting match that I've wanted to see for a while and Sendai Girls is probably the only place its ever going to happen. Suruga probably wins it since generally these things put the rookies of four different promotions in the semis to give everyone something and she's positioned higher that Mei Hoshizuki; I think she beats Shindo as well to go to the final and that's a match I also can't wait to see: I figured that is how that half of the bracket would line up and it sounds great. Less sure about the other half: Kurea-Umesaki is a toss up and based on their two matches that also should be really good: I think Manami probably beats the winner of that match though to get a Sendai Girls wrestler in the final of their tournament and from there I'm less sure: Manami probably wins so that Sendai Girls wins their own tournament but I could see Mei winning, challenging Manami for the Junior Title and then losing as well. Really excited for the end of this tournament: whenever COVID allows it to happen

Interesting article about Masha Slamovich who's currently on tour with Marvelous; living in their dojo and has extended her visa for another three months because she's based out of New York City and obviously isn't overly excited to return home there at the moment. This seems especially important at the moment after the biggest wrestling company in the world sack a lot of employees in the middle of a global pandemic to protect their eight digit profit margins; since Marvelous didn't need to offer to put her up for three more months: they aren't running shows but they did, almost as if they value the people that are willing to travel halfway across the world to wrestle for them.

Akileese posted:IWTV and DDT Universe are far and away the best streaming value in these hard times. Honestly, the only thing I've ever felt that IWTV was sincerely lacking was a decent women's promotion. They have WWR but they haven't uploaded a show since July, and I think they've just started getting shows from WSU. Sendai fill a Joshi gap in their lineup. Wouldn't mind seeing a Japanese men's promotion on there either.

the first show is the Meiko-Io title match from 2016 which is a sensible start: two known established names might draw new eyes; undercard looks good plus it gives them plenty of available footage if this goes on for a long time. Don't know what they'll air though; could be just the Samurai shows, might be anything that aired and I'll guess we'll see. If it us just the big shows then show 2 will be the Meiko-Chihiro Hashimoto title change that I remember being very good.
