Have a friend that just went to the hospital due to seizures and they say there is blood clotting in the lungs. I know it would not change anything in any way but is this likely to be a complication of this virus?

This is likely because of the virus. The virus does cause blood clotting issues throughout the body which leads to the orange toes discussed earlier. My understand of covid-19 patients on ventilators the they typically get blood in the fluids coming out of the lungs due to the cell walls breaking down.

I'm not sure that it's considered a complication, but a direct effect of the virus itself.

True, but both those movements started in the libertarian and green parties and influenced the major parties to accept it. Republicans, being the more conservative of the two parties, was slower to accept it than the Democrats, but the libertarian wing of the Republican Party has a stronger voice now than the Religious Right does largely because of the popularity of those movements.

It was supposed to be silly. It was a joke.

Registered libertarians tend to vote in a way that is indistinguishable from Nixonite Republicans. They use weed legalization as an argument for their insane views but they never ever vote in a way that would lead to weed being legalized. Kansas is about as close to a "Libertarian" experiment as you can get, and while their legislators have paid lip service to medical marijuana for awhile they refuse to actually make that happen. It's simply not a real concern of any self-described libertarian with any real influence, like can you even imagine the Koch Brothers favoring legalization lol

The notion that libertarians have been leading the weed legalization movement is a myth propagated by libertarians. They certainly have vocal supporters who want that but it's simply not something that libertarian groups have been doing anything about

Meanwhile progressive (not green wtf) have been successful in getting weed or medical marijuana legalized in a bunch of D states because they actually do care about this issue

Bringing this back to coronavirus, this reflects what we're currently seeing with protests. Libertarians were perfectly content with massive government overreach when Orange Daddy wanted it, but now he's opposed so they are too. Progressives are remaining inside because they just don't want a bunch of people to die

So I hear antibody testing is going to get a big push in NY this week. But I also hear that they still aren't sure whether or not having the antibodies will prevent you from being re-infected.

BUT, if you have the antibodies, that means you had the disease. And if you were largely asymptomatic when you had it, does that mean you'd be asymptomatic if you caught it again? Or does it just mean you got lucky the first time, and might not be so lucky if you catch it again?

Unsure about the second part, but if its shown a massive number of people were infected without even knowing, thats a good sign.

nobody knows yet. it's likely that antibodies would confer some degree of immunity, but nobody knows how many antibodies you need or how long they stick around for

I guess the root of the question is: if you had it and were largely asymptomatic, is that because you got lucky and got a weakened or small exposure to the virus? Or is it because there's something about your biology that renders you immune to the virus?
