Dr. Garbanzo posted:I used to use coopers longnecks when I was doing brewing stuff but I got the shits with cleaning them and gave up. Tracking is definitely screwed up at the moment. Stuff is going straight from shipping information received to out for delivery without being scanned along the way. I got two separate deliveries on the weekend, one on Saturday and one yesterday.

Started with one of those manual cappers that you hit with a hammer, which seemed dodgy af to me, so bought one of the manual ones with two arms that you swing down, but that doesnt do a great job so i still have to go back and hit it with hammer a couple of times.

Bitterly disappointed in the specs of the only available mulcher at Bunnings but I'm determined to make the best of it and anything too big for it to handle should make ok firewood

The lever action bench jobs are the best but the simple hammer type ones work perfectly well once you get used to the idea of swinging a hammer at something made of glass.

Yeh the swing down bench cappers are the way to go if you're doing proper bottling, otherwise Grolsch bottles are good too

Dude is some kind of model making Savant/MacGyver though.

The C-SPAM covid thread is an absolute trainwreck but I can't look away. Apparently some of the eastern suburbs beaches in Sydney have re-opened. Do any NSW teachers know how the proposed roster system is going to work? My grandson is busting to get back to school but I don't see how they will be able to deliver the full curriculum if students are attending part-time.

Pro-tip: you don't need to do a full tear down and clean nearly as much as some people would have you believe. Just a rinse and backflush with thinner/cleaner between colours and a more thorough rinse and wipedown after each session. The more often you pull it apart the quicker it will wear out. well why not posted:anyone else saving a bunch of cash due to iso? Silver lining in not spending a bunch of money on fuel and going out way less often. Not necessarily but also I am slowly furnishing an apartment and stocking a pantry etc. I'm noticing I'm definitely spending less on stuff like fuel, but my food cost is increasing somewhat. I've set a goal to have a decent bit put away before I do my next big spend (belt grinder) but it's looking fairly achievable because of less moving around etc

well why not posted:anyone else saving a bunch of cash due to iso? Silver lining in not spending a bunch of money on fuel and going out way less often. No, not really. I got afraid that film might not survive this unscathed so I've been stocking up so I can continue my dumb impractical hobby. A lot of people are also selling their old gear on marketplace so I'll also be building up a darkroom so I can do enlargements and poo poo.

I'm looking up youtubes of Bunnings employees assembling the cheap cabinets I got and they all skip the last step that I want to double check, presumably bc its not very specific in the original instructions, I think I have to clamp the drawer fronts on and drill them in from the inside I think? That or clamp, mark, remove and drill that way which would be easier but the actual instructions are very vague on this step
